Wendy Williams is facing backlash over controversial comments regarding gay men. The 55-year-old television host faced backlash on Twitter after she told men to 'stop wearing our skirts and our heels' during the Hot Topics segment of her show on Thursday.

Wendy began the segment by asking if any of the women in the audience were celebrating Valentine's Day which is an unofficial holiday created by sitcom Parks And Recreation which is February 13 and features 'ladies celebrating ladies.'

The host then began to single out a few of the men she saw cheering before going on the rant as she said: 'If you’re a man and you’re clapping, you’re not even a part of this.

Luol Deng tapped as Global Ambassador for Basketball Africa League

 

 Basketball Africa League (BAL) named 2-time NBA All-Star and 2012 Olympian Luol Deng as its Global Ambassador.
  Following his retirement from an NBA career that spanned 15 years, Deng is tasked with helping to increase the BAL’s profile throughout the continent while using the sport as a vehicle to inspire African youth.


Originally from South Sudan, Deng was selected with the 7^th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns in the 2004 NBA Draft and was subsequently traded to the Chicago Bulls where he played from 2004-2014.  He also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers (2014), Miami Heat (2014-16), Los Angeles Lakers (2016-18) and Minnesota Timberwolves (2018-19), before signing a one-day contract with the Chicago Bulls to retire as a Bull ahead of the 2019-20 NBA Season.

In its latest investigative effort, BBC Africa Eye has expose the torture used by branches of the Nigerian police and armed forces.

The 17-minute video traces the origins of this technique known as ‘tabay,’ used in the interrogation of detainees and suspects.

Detainees’ arms are forced back and tied at the elbows using this technique, also cutting circulation to the hands; this torture technique causes agony as the hours go by.

SiriusXM Acquires Stake in SoundCloud for $75 Million

THR is reporting that SiriusXM Holdings has said that it invested $75 million in SoundCloud in return for a minority stake of an undisclosed size and two board seats.
This comes just one year after SiriusXM, which is controlled by John Malone’s Liberty Media, bought music streaming service Pandora.


 SoundCloud has said it would use the additional investment to “accelerate its product development and enhance the services that fuel its global community of creators and listeners.”


SoundCloud and Pandora boast of reaching more than 100 million unique listeners in the United States, creating the largest digital audio advertising marketplace, SiriusXM said Tuesday.


SoundCloud, which offers a free and an ad-free $9.99 a month service for listeners, as well as various service tiers for creators that cost $6 to $16 per month, said it set all-time highs for engagement, creators heard, subscribers and revenue in 2019.


The company mentioned it for the first time reached a $200 million “forward revenue run-rate” in the fourth quarter. The improvements came after SoundCloud in 2017 faced an uncertain future before securing a $169.5 million round of funding from the likes of Raine Group and Singapore-based investment company Temasek, along with a new executive team.

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Idah Peterside, has recounted how the desperation for money and fame led him into occultism.
The former footballer-turned pastor made the confessions on Ifeanyi Udeze’s diary on Brila FM, on Tuesday morning.
Peterside told Udeze that he was so desperate for money and fame and had to join the secret society to meet his desperate needs.
“It was so bad for me that I even went into demonic worship; I was involved in occultism and people didn’t know,” he said.
“I did all that because I wanted money and fame which were not coming. My case was so bad that I used to have meetings with snakes. Mine was top class; it was crazy.”
The ex-international also revealed that his major activity was to ‘initiate’ women by sleeping with them, especially virgins.
“What actually took me to the next level in occultism was dependent on the number of women I slept with because my covenant was to initiate women.

A Japanese 112-year-old has been crowned the oldest man in the world.

Cfrom Niigata was yesterday officially confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records as the longest living male at 112 years and 344 days old.

He was born on 5 March, 1907 in the town where he currently lives as the first of eight children of his father Haruzo and mother Miya.

Abiola Ajimobi sues Seyi Makinde, as Oyo Government plans to take over his property

Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has filed a suit against Governor Seyi Makinde over the revocation of his landed property at Agodi Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Also sued alongside the governor is the State Attorney General, the Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development and the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.

The former governor is also claiming the sum of N15million from the defendants being the cost of the action, including the expenses incurred to file each of the cases, and his attorney’s professional fees.
