A report by Pew Research Center, has revealed that Nigeria ranks second out of 102 countries examined for frequency of prayer.

According to the report, about 95% of adults examined say they pray everyday.

“These findings are broadly aligned with other data that suggest that a country’s level of wealth is inversely proportional to its levels of religious commitment as measured by survey responses about daily prayer, belief in God, attendance at religious services and stated importance of religion in one’s life. In other words, people in poorer countries tend to be more religious than people in wealthier countries,” the report said.

  “There was no ban; a panel was set up to investigate if the movie promoted some things that were against our culture. If it is found to be true, then the movie would be banned. There is no outright ban of the movie. It is not good to judge a book by its cover, they need to watch the movie and see the message in the movie. If they have an issue with the lead character in the movie, then I wouldn’t know. As a professional filmmaker, I try to cast people who fit into my script perfectly. Film is make-believe; it’s about trying to convince people.

Apple Shutting Down iTunes

Bloomberg reports  revealed that Apple will be retiring the iTunes soon, nearly two decades after its launch, replacing it with standalone Music, Television and Podcast apps.

Osibanjo meets, hails ‘Heroic’ Imam who saved Christains during deadly attack

 

VP Osinbajo recently met Imam Abubakar who Saved 200 people, who are mostly Christians, during a deadly attack by suspected bandits last year by hidding them in a mosque.

 

Abubakar, the Chief Imam of a mosque in Yelwan Gindi Akwati village, Gashish District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, saved the lives of over 200 persons when suspected bandits attacked communities in the LGA.
The reported attack took place on Saturday June 23, 2018, on Yelwan Gindi Akwati, Swei and Nghar villages in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, where scores of persons were killed by suspected bandits.

JAMB said the release of 4,536 out of a total 4,760 withheld results followed the decision of a committee set up to examine the multiple facial identities.

SEC orders Oando Group CEO Wale Tinubu, others to resign + bars him for 5 years

According to the statement, the Commission in 2017 had received 2 petitions and upon investigation, found out that the Wale Tinubu-led board of the company were indicted for false disclosures, market abuses, misstatements in financial statements, internal control failures, and corporate governance lapses stemming from poor Board oversight, irregular approval of directors’ remuneration amongst others. SEC ordered an Extraordinary General Meeting to be convened on or before July 1, 2019 to appoint new directors.

The statement in part reads

“Following the receipt of two petitions by the Commission in 2017, investigations were conducted into the activities of Oando Plc (a company listed on the Nigerian and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges).
“Certain infractions of securities and other relevant laws were observed. The Commission further engaged Deloitte & Touche to conduct a forensic audit of the activities of Oando Plc.
