Fellow Nigerians, from the first signs that Coronavirus, or COVID-19 was turning into an epidemic and was officially declared a world-wide emergency, the Federal Government started planning preventive, containment and curative measures in the event the disease hits Nigeria.
The whole instruments of government are now mobilized to confront what has now become both a health emergency and an economic crisis.
Nigeria, unfortunately, confirmed its first case on 27^th February 2020. Since then, we have seen the number of confirmed cases rise slowly.

By the morning of March 29^th, 2020, the total confirmed cases within Nigeria had risen to 97.
Regrettably,we also had our first fatality, a former employee of PPMC,who died on 23^rd March 2020. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this very difficult time. We also pray for quick recovery for those infected and undergoing treatment.
As of today, COVID-19 has no cure. Scientists around the world are working very hard to develop a vaccine.
We are in touch with these institutions as they work towards a solution that will be certified by international and local medical authorities within the shortest possible time.
For now, the best and most efficient way to avoid getting infected is through regular hygienic and sanitary practices as well as social distancing.

Jeremy Renner Wants Reduced Child support payment Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

 

 

Jeremy Renner reportedly has filed a request on Monday to lower the child support payment owed to his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco for their 6-year-old daughter Ava.
TMZ reports that Renner claims that his finances have taken a significant hit as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic, especially since the projects that he had in the works will either be postponed or cancelled.
The actor apparently had come into 2020 with the understanding that it was going to be a light year for him, but he still had some opportunities lined up. Those plans, however, were thrown off track by the recent delays in filming.
“It is likely that most productions will not resume again prior to the end of the year. As such, the projects that I had previously lined up to film this year are likely cancelled or postponed,” he said in his documents.
Renner also accuses Pacheco of recklessly managing the money that he has been giving her for their daughter’s housing, food, transportation, and clothing.
“Sonny’s voracious appetite for Jeremy’s money has no end in sight,” his attorney argues, per TMZ. He is asking that a judge hand over sole control of the funds in Ava’s account to his business managers. Love Is Blind, produced by Red Arrow’s Kinetic Content, particularly getting attention and becoming Netflix’s top show in the U.S. at the end of February,2 weeks after its launch. And it is thanks to the two stars, Carmen and Lauren, who many viewers believe carried the show on their backs.

Designer Christian Siriano Creates Face Masks for Health Workers

 

Christian Siriano has stepped up to aid healthcare workers who are facing a shortage of masks during the coronavirus crisis.
The fashion designer volunteered his team to help fill the void. “If @NYGovCuomo says we need masks my team will help make some. I have a full sewing team still on staff working from home that can help,” the “Project Runway” alum tweeted Friday night.
New York governor Andrew Cuomo accepted Siriano’s pledge and called for others to follow suit. “We’re in contact with @CSiriano. Appreciate his help so much. Who’s next? Let’s do this together, NY!” he replied.
By Friday night, the designer was tweeting videos of prototypes, seen below. “Prototypes are happening,” Siriano tweeted along with another photo before adding there will be “more updates by next week.”
By late Saturday afternoon, he gave an update to his Twitter followers, writing, “Thanks everyone for all the support. We are making waves and working on getting approvals before we start anything. It’s very important before anyone does anything to help, please make sure what you are making is safe and hopefully FDA approved. We must be smart.”
Still, great effort!

Prince Charles tests positive for Coronavirus

In an announcement Wednesday, Clarence House has said the Prince of Wales is displaying mild symptoms of the dreaded virus that has sent much of the world into lockdown.
The announcement however stated that the UK’s crown prince “otherwise remains in good health”.
It is understood that the Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus.
As a result of the tests, Charles and Camilla were now self-isolating in Balmoral in Scotland.
Clarence House added that it was “not possible to ascertain from whom the prince caught the virus”.
Prince Charles is the biggest public figure to be diagnosed with the virus.

The OAP is currently working from home just like many Lagosians who are observing the order issued by the Lagos State Government as regards flattening the coronavirus pandemic curve.
