Dr. Dre Says Eminem’s ‘Gifts Were Undeniable’ in Rock Hall of Fame Speech

 Eminem was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this past weekend.
Longtime collaborator Dr. Dre was present to officially introduce him, which was predictable and appropriate.
Dre delivered a speech that was both entertaining and inspirational, and he even found time for some humor.

Dr. Dre, who, alongside Jimmy Iovine, the CEO of Aftermath’s parent company Interscope, signed Eminem in 1998, inducted the Detroit rapper into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with a speech in which the hip-hop mogul reflected on his relationship with Em.

“Over 20 years ago, Jimmy Iovine, who is also one of tonight’s inductees and one of my best friends, played a demo tape for me from a guy who called himself Eminem,” Dre said. “The first thing I said when I heard it was, ‘What the fuck did he just say?’ I loved it so much that I couldn’t stop listening to it.

“A few days later, Jimmy called me and said, ‘You know he’s a White guy, right?’ Fucked me up!” Dre continued. “Looking back, I don’t know why it didn’t cross my mind. He certainly didn’t sound like a Black rapper, especially because of what he was saying. I guess it was my ignorance at the time, thinking that if you’re a really good rapper, you must be Black.”

Following Dre’s induction speech, Eminem delivered a medley of hits, including classic songs like “My Name Is,” “Forever,” and “Not Afraid.”

“So I’m probably not supposed to actually be here tonight because of a couple of reasons. One of them that I’m a rapper, and this is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Eminem said after his performance. “And there’s only a few of us right now that have been inducted in already, but there’s only a few of us.”

“Secondly, I almost died from an overdose in 2007, which kind of sucked,” he continued. “Hailie, plug your ears: because drugs were fucking delicious, and I thought we had a good thing going man, but I had to go and fuck it all up and take too many. God damn. OK Hailie.”

Eminem went on to credit dozens of hip-hop artists for influencing him at the outset of his career. “I put this list together yesterday,” he shared, before running through the names that included 2 Live Crew, De La Soul, Public Enemy, 2Pac, the Notorious B.I.G., and Ice Cube, among many others.

“I know this induction is supposed to be me talking about myself and shit man, but fuck that,” he concluded. “I would not be here without them. I’m a high school dropout man, with a hip-hop education, and these were my teachers. And it’s their night just as much as it is mine. So thank you.”

The 42-year-old SKIMS mogul appeared with her mother, sisters Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Khloé Kardashian, and grandmother Mary Jo "MJ" Campbell during the private event, according to a black-and-white photo released by sister Kim Kardashian.
The 35-year-old Arthur George designer was also captured in the image grinning widely.

“Happy Birthday mommy @krisjenner We had so much fun last night celebrating you and loved feeling what it’s like to be a version of you dressing up like you,” Kim captioned the post. “It felt powerful and fun!

Toward the end of the post, Kim also noted how Jenner will “show up for me and all my siblings at any hour of the day and never ever complain when we all need your attention at the same time.”

Rob’s appearance at Jenner’s party marks a rare outing for the notoriously private star. Though he previously appeared on E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians as well as Rob & Chyna, he has taken a step back from the public eye and lives life away from the cameras.

“He has his moods,” Kim previously said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2019. “Sometimes he’s like, ‘Look, I didn’t sign up for this,’ and then sometimes he’s like, ‘I’m cool to do it.'”

Despite his need for privacy, the father of 5-year-old daughter Dream Kardashian, whom he shares with ex-fiancée Blac Chyna, has continued to make appearances at family gatherings. He, in fact, made a brief cameoduring a May 2022 episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians where he was attending Jenner’s 66th birthday party.

“He’s at things a lot, we just always respect his privacy,” Khloé said on Daily Pop in July 2020. “He’s so handsome, he’s such a good person and I just love him. And I love that he’s getting a positive response because it’s just gassing him up more.”

The Good American designer continued, “It makes him feel really good and confident. That’s all I want for my brother, is to feel good about himself.”

In the most recent episode of Red Table Talk, Grammy-nominated singer Fat Joe joined the women to discuss the highs and lows of his illustrious career. He also revealed that Kanye West once came to his door to seek advise after making antisemitic statements.


Joe answered to a fan's query on the counsel he would give to West, who is now known as Ye, while he was sitting at the red table.


Just before responding to the query, Joe revealed that West had a surprise waiting for him in his hotel room as he was making his way to RTT.

“We talked for about an hour,” he shared. “I said ‘You know what Ye man, you do church. There’s no more powerful person than God. Sit down, talk to God.”

He added, “‘I said listen Ye, ‘There’s people that love you.” I told him just like this, I grabbed his shoulder, ‘God is telling me to tell you this.’ Bro, you gotta snap out of this. You gotta get focused and look to God. God is the answer, God is the key. Whatever you gotta do.”

Joe continued, “He just gotta make it right with himself, make it right with everybody he offended and [that] he hurt. And just live whatever life we have left in peace. That’s all we can pray for, that he finds that.”

“The only person that has an answer for Kanye right now is God.”

Silverstone and Dash’s TikTok comes as the latest in a long line of Clueless homages. The film marked its 27th anniversary in July, and Silverstone celebrated by posting a Cher highlight reel. “27 years ago, a bad b*tch was born,” she wrote. “Happy anniversary, Cher!”

And last year, Silverstone and her son Bear recreated the movie’s “It looks like underweah!” scene, in which Cher’s dad, Mel (Dan Hedaya), calls her in to assess her outfit and deems it to be lacking in coverage. Bear stepped into the role of Mel in a too-big suit jacket and glasses.

A robe tops off the look, which includes what appears to be a mesh bustier with corset accents.
But the actress really steals the show with her glam and accessories.

In order to tie everything together, Ralph, 65, had a few jewels scattered throughout the part in her hair.
One braid is tied across her forehead, leaving her hair in soft curls.

The Emmy-winning actress struts her stuff during the show while surrounded by models all wearing similar looks. She showed off a teaser video of her red carpet appearance for the show on Instagram, writing, “The DIVA has arrived!” The Savage X Fenty Instagram also shared a teaser of Ralph’s appearance, writing on Instagram, “@thesherylleeralph is EVERYTHINGGG ?” The gracious actress simply replied, “Thank you!”

The glam across the Savage X Fenty show — thanks to Fenty Beauty — is eye-catching. Cara Delevingne rocked bleached brows with her strappy lingerie set. Rihanna opens the show with shimmery shadow on her lids, just like Ralph’s. The “Lift Me Up” singer’s makeup was all gold, though, complementing her blue corset.

 

 

Elsewhere in the show, models wore full faces of shimmery colors, juxtaposing the forest-like backdrop and making their faces really pop against the dark background.

Rihanna recruited a star-studded list of names to take part in her show, which was filmed in October in Los Angeles. Also appearing are Simu Liu, Precious Lee, Irina Shayk, Joan Smalls and Johnny Depp.

“I’m looking forward to [people seeing] it,” Rihanna told PEOPLE ahead of the show dropping on Prime Video. “It’s my first real thing that I’ve done since I had the baby, work-wise.”

The new mom, who welcomed her baby with A$AP Rocky in May, also shared that even though this is Vol. 4 of her brand’s show, “every single show” feels just as special as the first one she did.

“I love seeing new bodies, new silhouettes, new personalities, new characters, new energies,” she said. “I just enjoy seeing people celebrate their body, celebrate who they are — and they just happen to be wearing Savage. That’s exciting.”

Toni Kan resigns as head of PR for Glo

 Toni Kan's position as director of public relations has quit.


The journalist left the company nine months after joining it, with effect from November 14, 2022.


According to rumors, Kan is leaving Glo to finish a new book and look into other options.


He thanked Glo for the time he spent working there and acknowledged the influence the company had on his career in a statement announcing his resignation.

“Working at Glo was an invaluable learning experience. I worked with a crop of talented and well-experienced colleagues and a chairman who is generous to a fault and a guru in every sense of the word,” he said.

“I will look back with fondness at the work done, awards won and connections made in the short time I was at Glo.”

Over the years, Kan has had an extensive and multi-disciplinary public relations and communications career which has spanned banking and telecoms, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, as well as consulting.

His journalistic achievements include being a former editor of Hints magazine at 26, co-founding Radi8 Limited, a public relations agency in 2010, thisislagos.ng in 2017, and thelagosreview.ng in 2019.

He also co-founded the Media Training Room, a training and capacity building venture, in 2018, alongside sabinews.com, an online publishing platform in 2014, which he later sold in 2018 in a landmark deal.

He is one of Nigeria’s most prolific biographers and a ghost writer.

64-Year Old Kathy Hochul Becomes First Elected Woman Governor Of New York

Kathy Hochul, 64, has become the first woman elected New York Governor.

The Democrat retains the office she assumed in August 2021 when her predecessor, Andrew Cuomo resigned.

Hochul defeated Republican congressman Lee Zeldin, an ally of ex-President Donald Trump.

“I’m not here to make history, I’m here to make a difference”, Hochul told supporters after her triumph.

“I may be New York’s first woman governor, but I know I won’t be the last”, she tweeted on Wednesday.

Hochul won the Democratic primary in June, defeating U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi of Long Island and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.

In May 2011, Hochul won a special election for New York’s 26th congressional district after the resignation of Chris Lee.

The victory then made her the first Democrat to represent the district in 40 years.

Mercy, who implied she was wealthy, stated that affluent people don't advertise their riches.

Mercy Eke said that the biggest noise is made by empty vessels, which Tacha perceived as a veiled jab.

Mercy’s shade is coming hours after Tacha had furiously clapped back at a fan who mocked her on Instagram for posting too many photos of herself

The reality star had made several posts from the Wakanda movie premiere that was held over the weekend in Lagos.

The fan had queried her saying “We have seen enough of this outfit, once is enough, looking great though”; a statement that Tacha didn’t find funny.

Tacha immediately responded with a breakdown of how much the whole look from hair styling to her shoes cost over N2million hence the reason she won’t stop posting the photos.

“If you are not mad. Photography cost N250, 000, Videographer cost N300,000, makeup and hair cost N200, 000, and the dress and styling cost N1.5million. Do your calculations, don’t be stupid”.

Also, Tacha had reminded her colleagues that they can’t compete with her because she’s a woman of her own.

The Big Brother Naija Star via her verified Instagram page splashed photos of herself in an all white ensemble.

“You can’t compete with me. I want YOU To win TOO! Sunshine mixed with a lil HURRICANE,” she captioned the photos slide.

Jennifer Aniston Opens Up About Infertility, IVF and More

Jennifer Aniston is opening out about her infertility issues and attempts to start a family for the first time ever.


The "Morning Show" actress finally spoke out about her life in Hollywood, the debut of her hair care business, and her unsuccessful IVF attempts to conceive in her late 30s and early 40s.
Aniston acknowledges that "no one" was intentionally aware of it.

“I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” Aniston said. All the years and years and years of speculation…it was really hard.
I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would have given anything if someone had said to me, “freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour.” You just don’t think it. So, here I am today,” she said. “The ship has sailed.”

Aniston, 53, noted it was hard coping with the intense media scrutiny about whether she wanted to have children while going through her fertility struggles and IVF, behind closed doors.

Despite everything she went through, Aniston told Allure, “I have zero regrets.”

She added that she’s in a great stage of her life and “proud of my wrinkles and gray hair.”

“I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, ‘Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.’ I don’t have to think about that anymore,” she said.

During the Allure interview, Aniston also reflected on how her private life was dissected by the media speculating on whether she wanted to have children.

She said there were false narratives she was “selfish” and only cared about her career. Another baseless storyline was that her marriage failed because she would not get pregnant, she said.

Aniston was married to Brad Pitt in 2000 but filed for divorce in 2005. Then, she married Justin Theroux in 2015 and they divorced in 2017.

She said of the false reports about her in the media: “God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don’t have anything to hide at this point.”

Ibrahim bemoaned the exorbitant cost of life in Ghana in a series of tweets in which she detailed her monthly car fuel expenses.

She described Ghana as the “most expensive West African country right now.”

She stated that the amount she spent weekly on fuel was more expensive than what will be spent in the United States or Nigeria.

It’s been over four years since Nicki released Queen, but as she told JT for i-D magazine, she’s finally getting ready to release the follow-up. When asked what she’s got planned right now, the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper replied, “The fifth album.” She didn’t offer up many more details, but did promise it won’t be a long wait for fans.

“I’m not gonna say when it’s gonna come out, but the album will be out soon,” she added.

Minaj also teased her new nail design company. “And I am working on a nail design company, where people will be able to buy my press-on nail with dope designs,” she said. “I was already working on that before someone auctioned my press-on nail for $50,000 or whatever they spent on it.”

Minaj also told JT that she has plans out side of the music industry, with more potential roles in both TV and film. “I’ve been speaking to a director about doing something in a movie,” she said. “In terms of TV, we’ll see. But I love acting, and I’ll never abandon acting for too long. That’s one of my biggest passions.” Minaj previously acted in 2012’s Ice Age: Continental Drift, which also starred Drake, 2014’s The Other Woman, 2016’s Barbershop: The Next Cut, and most recently, The Angry Birds Movie 2.

Elsewhere in the interview, she touched upon her biggest inspirations, and said that Foxy Brown remains the biggest influence on her. “I would listen to this woman non-stop,” she said. “Finding out she was from Trinidad was so freaking amazing to me, because I never imagined that a rapper could be from my country. She’s so precise with her delivery, and so clear. And I really love clarity in raps.”

Minaj also recently responded to a rumor that her son’s name is Jacob, after TikTok user @whomamagonecheckme2 shared a clip musing about the boy’s possible name. 

“That’s definitely not his name but at least you got some views & likes, right?” Nicki wrote in the comments section of the video.

Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court sentenced a Zimbabwean woman, Lady Memory Mutsika, to 3 years of direct imprisonment for 128 counts of theft.

#jaiyeorie    On Wednesday, November 9, the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in South Africa sentenced Lady Memory Mutsika of Zimbabwe to 3 years in direct imprisonment for 128 charges of theft.


Mutsika, 43, served as the church treasurer for the Seventh-Day Adventist congregation in Pretoria City.
Her duties included sending donations made to the church account for tithes and offerings to the Northern Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
In the four years between 2012 and 2015, Mutsika moved to her bank account and used for personal purposes more than R800 000 of the money she got from the tithe and offerings.

 

 

 

In court, she pleaded guilty to the charges and asked for a non-custodial sentence to pay the church back the money over five years.   However, the state argued that Mutsika always indicated her willingness to pay back the money and has not paid back a single cent since March 2022, after she was convicted.   The magistrate agreed with the state and said Mutsika showed no remorse. He said she stopped stealing not because of her conscience, but because she was caught. The church placed her in a position of trust, but she betrayed that trust. He further said that he viewed Mutsika’s willingness to pay back the money, as a bargaining tool and as a ticket to keep her out of prison. Therefore, a sentence of imprisonment was appropriate and criminal conduct has consequences.

Hushpuppi, a convicted Nigerian fraudster, was sentenced to 11 years in jail in April 2021 after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to participate in money laundering. US rapper and producer 50 Cent has hinted that he plans to film a television series about Hushpuppi.
