AMCON, which owns over 60 per cent of the airline’s shares, announced the dissolution of the board of Aero and appointed a manager to oversee the affairs of the company.

The decision to dissolve the board follows protests and letters by aviation unions, Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association (ATSSSAN) and the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) against the management of the company accusing the management of the company of fraud
The asset management company says that it decided to make changes in the management of the airline to protect the brand heritage of the airline. Aero Contractors is currently Nigeria’s oldest airline, established in 1959.
“AMCON would like to assure the regulatory authorities, the travelling public and key stakeholders that the airline will continue to operate on the solid foundation of safety and security with excellent customer service,” the statement said.
