‘Worst time in my life’ – Uzoho breaks silence after Ghana howler

#jaiyeorie

Francis Uzoho, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, has stated that he will accept responsibility for the team's failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Last week, Uzoho's first-half blunder gifted Ghana's Black Stars their only goal at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, denying Nigeria a place in the November tournament in Qatar.

Uzoho blamed himself for the Super Eagles' failure to qualify for the World Cup on his official Instagram account, vowing to make amends in future matches.

The goalkeeper pledged that he will return the smiles on the Nigerian fans' faces.

“This past couple of days has been the worst in my lifetime.

“I wanted to take my nation to Qatar but rather did the opposite. I know what football means to you all and to myself, I can’t promise not to make mistakes again but I can promise not to give up until I bring back that smile on your faces.

“Thank you for the support and God bless.”
