Johnny Depp Opens Up About the Horrible Abuse, During his marriage to Amber Heard, he allegedly went through a lot.

#jaiyeorie   According to CNN, Johnny Depp testified in a Fairfax, Virginia court in his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

During their relationship, the actor claimed that Heard verbally abused him.
Depp stated, "I was not allowed to be right, not permitted to have a voice."
He further stated that after Heard threw a bottle of vodka at him, he sought medical attention for a severed finger.
"She flung the enormous bottle, which collided with [his hand] and smashed all over the place.
Then I noticed that the tip of my finger had been severed as I looked down."

He went on to say:
"I don't know what it's like to have a nervous breakdown," Depp remarked.
"However, that was perhaps the closest I'd ever come."

Depp, on the other hand, spoke extensively about Heard's charges of domestic abuse, his past with substance misuse, and his experiences growing up with an abusive mother during his almost three-hour testimony on Tuesday.

"You gradually realize you're in a relationship with your mother, in a manner," Depp testified, connecting his mother's violence to Heard's claimed abuse.
"I wanted to try to make it work," he said when his counsel asked why he stayed with Heard as their relationship worsened.
Ms. Heard had mentioned suicide on a few times, so it becomes a consideration; it's something that lurks in the back of your mind.
He is suing her for $50 million over an op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018 in which she claimed she had been the victim of domestic abuse.
Depp believes it cost him lucrative film jobs, despite the fact that she did not name him in the article.

"Nothing less than everything," Depp said when asked what he's lost as a result of the claims.
It was over when the allegations were made, when the allegations were quickly spreading across the world, telling people that I was a drunken, cocaine-fueled danger who suddenly battered women in my 50s.

He maintained that he has never “struck a woman.”

He also discussed his tattoos, telling the court Heard would make fun of some of them, especially the one he got for his former girlfriend, actress Winona Ryder, which he changed to “Wino forever” after they broke up. He said Heard didn’t like it.

“I took off the last two letters and had it say ‘Wino forever,'” Depp said, adding, “I thought through pain comes humor. Humor has to come in there into the pain and that’s how you play it out in the mind… so I changed it to ‘Wino forever.'”

He said that Heard wanted him to get a tattoo of her own name, which he eventually did. “And ironically it wasn’t long after that that everything started going sideways,” Depp said. “I was doing everything I could to bring a smile to her face as opposed to a frown and then the onslaught of whatever problems she was experiencing. I would try to wake her up with laughter, singing stupid songs in her ear. I generally just tried to keep bringing her mood up. Sometimes it worked, many times it didn’t. But I tried.”

He said a lot more about his addiction when he was with Heard, his withdrawal, the detox, and how unkindly she treated him during that period of his life.

Heard has yet to take the stand in the trial that is expected to last six weeks.
