Hugh Jackman is in mourning.
The actor took to his Instagram to announce the death of his father, Christopher John Jackman, sharing that his dad died on Sunday, on what was Father’s Day in Australia.
“In the early hours of Father’s Day (AU), my Dad peacefully passed away,” Jackman wrote. “And whilst there is deep sadness, I am filled with such gratitude and love.”
Jackman continued, writing that his father “devoted his life to his family, his work and his faith. I pray he is now at peace with God.” In the comments of the post, fellow actor Ryan Reynolds extended his thoughts to Jackman, sharing that he “was lucky to have met him.”
