‘Crazy, Lovely, Cool’ is Nollywood’s first TV show on Netflix
Netflix bought Obi Emelonye’s TV show, Crazy, Lovely, Cool, making it the first Nigerian show to stream on the platform. The 10-episode show, which explores Nigerian university life, first aired in the United Kingdom on May 28, 2017. The series is a coming-of-age show that follows young undergraduates who are brought together by a shocking revelation from a gossip blog.
Crazy, Lovely, Cool is written by Kemi Adesoye, who penned Kunle Afolayan’s The Figurine. Its star-studded cast includes Swanky JKA, Enyinna Nwigwe, Wale Ojo, Yetunde Oduwole, Daniel Davids, and Adesua Etomi.

Swanky plays Gattuso, the enforcer of the most famous gang on campus, SS Confraternity. Etomi plays Funmi, a blogger, bachelorette, and a reluctant politician. Nwigwe plays Izu, a private investigator, blogger, and entrepreneur.
Crazy, Lovely, Cool starts showing on Netflix from December 15, 2019.
