Police confirm 17 killed, 7 suspects arrested in Offa robbery





 Premium Times reports that the Kwara police commissioner Lawan Ado said five residents were shot and killed on the street of Offa by the robbers.

He said: “Twelve people were killed at the police station, eight of them were police officers. The remaining four were suspects in police custody."

Ado said the police intelligence team has arrived from Abuja to help with the investigation into the incident.

He said: “We arrested one person yesterday and six persons today in connection with the robbery,” he said. “We will stop at nothing to ensure that all the suspects are arrested.”

He added that the police has reovered seven get away vehicles used by the robbers t escape town after the robbery.

It was reported that the president of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, has declared that he would support Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state to ensure that all those who took part in the robbery attacks on banks in Offa on Thursday, April 5, are brought to justice.
