Kwara Council Poll: Political Parties Sign Peace Agreement

The Independent Electoral Commission of Kwara State (KWASIEC) called on state political parties to allow peace in Saturday's local elections. Elections will be held in the 16 local government areas and the 193 districts of Kwara State this Saturday. Representatives of political parties signed a peace agreement before the Inter-Agency Advisory Committee on Electoral Security at the Office of the Electoral Superintendent. They promised to give peace a chance during the elections, but called on KWASIEC to be fair to all. State Police Commissioner Lawan Ado promised adequate security just as KWASIEC President Uthman Ajidagba promised an equal playing field for all political parties. Meanwhile, the executive council of Kwara State has called on the inhabitants of the state to come and vote for the candidates of their choice on Saturday. .
