The actress and filmmaker, who has begun working on the campaign trail, was a guest on Channels Television's Politics Today, where she discussed a variety of topics related to her political journey.
During her interview, Funke Akindele revealed that she joined the People's Democratic Party about three months ago and that, despite having no prior experience in politics, she has been managing people on a smaller scale as the studio head of her production company, Scene One Productions, for over 14 years.
She discussed some of the problems that plague the megacity of Lagos, particularly as someone who lives and works in the state, as well as her desire to find solutions.
Funke Akindele, one of Nigeria's most followed celebrities on social media, discussed utilizing this as a strategy to gain the Lagos state seat of power.
She stated that she is well-liked by the public, thanks to her large following of over 20 million, and that this will be reflected in the upcoming elections.
She also stated that the grassroots are lovers of her work and identify with her, which will aid in the PDP's victory in 2023.
