 The purported state of hostels intended for athletes partaking in the 2022 Nigerian University Games Association, NUGA, has sparked outrage on the internet.

NUGA is the Nigerian University Games Association, which includes around 136 academic institutions from across the country; this year's event is hosted by UNILAG, the University of Lagos.

According to a Twitter user named @UncleChike_, the current situation of athlete accommodation in UNILAG is not encouraging.

The user decried the dismal situation after a full day of sporting activity, taking to the microblogging platform to share photographs of bunk beds allegedly with bug-ridden mattresses.
