This footage shows Afghanistan’s biggest female pop star Aryana Sayeed escaping the country aboard a US Air Force plane.
The celebrity singer, 36, who lives in Istanbul in Turkey but who often visits Kabul, reassured her followers on Instagram, after having to leave the country after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.
Other images of the pop star show her at Kabul airport along with her producer and husband Hasib Sayed.
They can then also be seen aboard the US Air Force military plane, wearing face masks as they head to Doha in Qatar.
Aryana Sayeed, who is also a judge on Afghanistan’s version of The Voice, then reportedly took a flight to Istanbul.
She told her over 1.3 million Instagram fans: “I am well and alive and after a couple of unforgettable nights, I have reached Doha, Qatar and am awaiting my eventual flight back home to Istanbul.”
She later revealed that she had arrived safely in Turkey.
The pop star shared a picture on Instagram of her and her husband fleeing Afghanistan on a US plane.
In a caption alongside the post, she said: “I had said in one of my recent interviews that I will be the “Last Soldier to leave the Motherland”… and interestingly enough, that is exactly what happened.
“I hope and pray as a result of the recent changes, at the very least my beautiful people will be able to start living a peaceful life without the fear of suicide bombers and explosions. My heart, my prayers and my thoughts will always be with you!
“My heartfelt gratitude to each and everyone of you for your well-wishes and prayers who were concerned about my presence inside Afghanistan after so many others with lesser dangers/concerns had already left.
“After I get home and my mind and emotions return back to normal from a world of disbelief and shock, I have many stories to share with you My LOVE/S!!
“For now, please stay safe and please stay united! xoxo -Aryana”
Aryana has been a vocal supporter for the country’s military forces before the Taliban seized control of the country.
She reportedly first left her Afghan homeland when she was just eight years old, with her family finally settling in London in the United Kingdom.
After she became famous, she regularly went back to Afghanistan.
She has also been a vocal supporter of women’s rights, rights which are now in jeopardy now that the Taliban have taken control of the country.
