Lupita Nyong’o’s Met Gala 2019 Hair Do

Lupita Nyong’o was a head turner at 2019 Met Gala wearing a statement-making Versace Atelier number.
The ensemble was crafted from macramé column dress constructed from leather stars embroidered by hand with fuchsia-tone crystals.The structural cape and matching folding fan are crafted from hand-frayed and hand-brushed organza in rainbow hues. Lupita Nyong’o attire to the Met Gala took twenty five working days to complete and features bejeweled button accents.
She accessorized with a matching fan and totally blew us away with her hair and makeup. hair, Vernon François styled the Us actress’ hair in a dramatic, voluminous ‘fro. The unique thing about the style was the afro combs stuck in her hair which represented not just a game-changing accessory but also black power, a sign of collective identity. Her big, bold and black hair was complemented by bright campy makeup.

Vernon François writes; I drew so many inspirations from our heritage in particular a self portrait by @laurendkelley “Pickin” as well as Marie Antoinette and considering the portions of lupita N'yongo dress and of course the theme. Our goal is to continue to demonstrate the power of our hair texture that it is the most moldable and luxurious hair texture
