A California lawmaker has promised to make Nipsey Hussle’s philanthropic efforts part of the official Congressional Record.

Nipsey Hussle's legacy and philanthropy will never be forgotten.
Rep. Karen Bass has promised to make the Crenshaw rapper’s philanthropic efforts part of the official Congressional Record.

 Bass took to Twitter writing:
I will be heading to the House Floor next week to formally enter Nipsey Hussle’s contributions to South Los Angeles into the Congressional Record where it will be a part of United States history forever.

The congresswoman told ABC News:
Nipsey was a proponent of community development at the real estate and intellectual level.
In real estate, he was all about empowerment, specifically when it came to the economic opportunity in South LA — being a part of the opportunity by becoming a real estate owner himself and immediately using the stores he opened as opportunities for employment for the community.

Hussle, an LA native, had been vocal in the past about his involvement with the Crips-affiliated Rollin 60s street gang. But he took the fortune he earned through his lucrative music career and funneled it back into his community.
The 33-year-old do-gooder purchased the Hyde Park strip mall he used to sell his mixtapes from and opened Marathon Clothing, according to NPR. He also had plans to redevelop the area with low-income housing.
Hussle, who was born Ermias Asghedom, invested in improving schools and public art projects. He was known for paying for funerals for victims of gun violence, NPR said.
The day after he was killed, the dad of two was set to meet with the Los Angeles Police Department to discuss curbing gang violence in the city.
RIP Nipsey Hussle. My continued prayers to his family and all who loved him.📎 🤔COMMENT BELOW... CRITIC ALSO 🖋️ 📜 🗺️ 😂 ... spill TEA ☕ Easy on Shade 💣 COMMENT BELOW... CRITIC ALSO 🇳🇬 #jaiyeorie 🗺️
