13 years after being embarrassed, UNILAG invites Bisi Alimi to a conference on variety of titles

#Nigeria
Bisi Alimi is the headline of the diversity and inclusion conference at the University of Lagos, which comes 13 years after college management said he was "morally incapable" to graduate from an institution for his sexuality. Writing to his Instagram yesterday, the LGBT advocate said he was invited to close the plenum, the fulfillment of an event he never imagined as an opportunity. "Before my presentation, I actually went to the bathroom to cry a little," he wrote on his page, adding: "Nobody told me that this was a possibility. I did not believe it either." Recall that 2004 marked the beginning of Alima's new life. That year he went to the New Dawn national television show that he was fired by Funy Iyanda on the Nigerian television authority (Nigerian Television Authority) to find out he was a homosexual. That discovery led to the end of Iyand's very popular breakfast. Shortly thereafter, Alimi fled from Nigeria to the UK where he began his advocacy, and won major awards, including the nod for the Vodafone campaign of the year. In November 2016, Bisi Alimi and his partner Anthony Davis became legally a couple. He is now returning to Nigeria, at the head of a conference at the same university that has nearly destroyed his dreams. See his full note:
