First Lady Michelle Obama was in attendance to present the 15-time Grammy winner with The Recording Academy's Recording Artists' Coalition Award for her ongoing contributions to popular music.

 Recording Academy President and CEO Neil Portnow and Nancy Pelosi, the Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives were at the event to salute Alicia. During the event, Neil said, "We are proud to honor Alicia Keys for her artistry, philanthropy and her passion for creators' rights as a founding member of The Academy's brand-new Grammy Creators Alliance."
