Former British Minister of Health, Matt Hancock, was filmed packing his belongings and moving out of his family home after his affair with an assistant was revealed. Matt, who resigned in June after The Sun released a CCTV video of him kissing his assistant, was seen collecting bags and boxes with his personal belongings. Hancock was caught cuddling and kissing his assistant Coladangel in his office at the Ministry of Health on May 6 - which prompted his resignation and the end of his 15-year marriage. Hancock and Coladangelo, who have three children with husband Oliver Tress, both left the couple after their illegal relationship was discovered. Lamar Odom ordered to pay nearly $400,000 in child support case

 Lamar Odom was ordered to pay nearly $ 400,000 to his ex-girlfriend after he allegedly stopped paying her alimony and other expenses related to their two children. Lisa Morales sued the former Los Angeles Laker in May, claiming she has not complied with their 2015 settlement agreement since June 2020 because of their now grown children.

 Morales claimed that Odom was late with child support, college expenses and tuition, as well as rent for an apartment in Lower Manhattan where she lives with their children, Destiny, 23, and Lamar Jr., 19, which triggered an eviction case against her.

At a court hearing last month, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper granted Morales ’request for a leave of absence verdict against Odom because he did not appear in the case to defend himself against the lawsuits. Cooper then signed his verdict, announced on Thursday, July 29, ordering Odom to pay $ 380,549 for child support, arrears of rent, college expenses and her legal fee in this case. Lamar Odom also has to fund a million-dollar life insurance policy by Friday, with the former beneficiary, the judge said. Otherwise, Morales "may reach a verdict against Lamar Odom for an additional $ 1,000,000," according to the order signed on July 20.

Both women, who are among the richest men in the world, have signed the Covenant of Giving, promising to give up most of their wealth for most of their lives. The surprising women's donation will be awarded to four winners of the Equality Can't Wait Challenge, a competition hosted by investment firm Melinda Gates Pivotal Ventures, with financial support from Scott and her husband, Dan Jewett, as well as the Philanthropies of the Charles and Lynn families. NBA to name 75 greatest players in 75th anniversary season

The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced on Friday, July 30, that its significant season of the 75th anniversary of 2021-22. The year will be marked as “NBA 75” and will feature the 75 greatest players in league history. Paying homage to "NBA 75," which includes the diamond-shaped NBA anniversary logo and events throughout the season to celebrate the league's past, present and future, is part of a celebration that pays homage to the milestone. Additional year-round celebrations will include special events in the team’s markets, NBA partner activities, and a limited edition product offering. The league’s broadcast partners, ESPN / ABC, TNT and NBA TV, will mark NBA 75 with an offer of content throughout the season. The team of the top 75 NBA players of all time will select a panel of current and former players, coaches, CEOs, team leaders and the media, and will be unveiled in October, the same month the season begins. The new uniforms will debut, and the 2022 NBA All-Star Game will be played in Cleveland, which last hosted the event in 1997, when the NBA celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has said insecurity under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government is the worst in the past 70 years.

The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement said it has dedicated its Monthly Revival Prayer for July to pray for the stability and development of Nigeria.

A statement signed on Wednesday by its Public Relations Officer, Pastor Louis Chidi, said that the session is titled: God has Sworn to Bless You”

Shakira to go on trial for alleged tax fraud in Spain

A judge has recommended that pop star Shakira goes on trial for alleged tax fraud in Spain.

After a three-year investigation, Judge Marco Juberias concluded there was “sufficient evidence” that the Colombian musician could have avoided paying her taxes.

The singer was charged in 2019 with not paying 14.5m euros (£12.3m) in taxes from 2012 to 2014.

Shakira lived primarily in Barcelona during that time despite having an official residence in Panama.

If she is found guilty of tax evasion, she could be fined or even jailed – although a judge could waive any potential prison sentence if it is less than two years as she would be a first-time offender.

When she testified in June 2019, she denied the charges, with her public relations firm saying she had paid the debt as soon as she was told about it by the tax office.

Scarlett Johansson is Suing Disney Over the Release of Black Widow

On Thursday, Scarlett Johansson filed a lawsuit against Walt Disney Co. over its release of Black Widow on its streaming platform, Disney Plus.

According to court documents, the lawsuit claims that Johansson’s contract was breached when the film was released on the streaming platform and alleged that the studio sacrificed the movie’s box office potential in order to grow its streaming service.

Disney slammed the suit stating that there was no merit to it.

In a statement, a Disney spokesperson responded, “There is no merit whatsoever to this filing. The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Disney has fully complied with Ms. Johansson’s contract and furthermore, the release of Black Widow on Disney+ with Premier Access has significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20M she has received to date.”

Marvel’s Black Widow is among numerous event movies that have debuted simultaneously on streaming and in theaters because of the pandemic.

Its release was delayed more than a year amid the COVID-19 crisis and it debuted earlier in July in theaters around the globe as well as on Disney+ Premier Access for an additional $30. Disney took the unusual step of announcing Disney+ revenue over the film’s opening weekend, saying it had earned $60 million.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, states that Black Widow had been guaranteed a wide theatrical release when Johansson signed her deal with Marvel. According to the complaint, Disney tortiously interfered with that deal for its own advantage.

The Nollywood actress recalled that while in labour, she and her husband were told that their son will be born through a Caesarean section as he was hanging on his umbilical cord and ready to come out with his legs. 

ROK studis boss, Mary disclosed that the doctor assurred them that CS is the safest way to birth and it turned out that way.

The crisis that rocked the Warri Kingdom over who will be Warri’s next Olu continued as some members of the Itsekiri nation led by billionaire businessman Ayiri Emami opposed the coronation of Prince Tsole Emik for the 21st Olu Warri. 

Following the demise of Ogiame Ikenwoli in December 2020, the Council of Chiefs elected Prince Tsolu, son of Ogiame Atuwatse II, 19 Olu Warri, on 5 April, as the next candidate for Olu. Tsola’s appointment, however, has met with sharp opposition from Ayiri and several others who argue that under the constitution of the Itsekiri nation, generally known as the “edict,” Prince Tsola cannot be crowned king. since his mother is from Yoruba country. Ayiri and others argue that according to the Edict Olu of Warri must have a mother who is either from the state of Itsekiri or from the state of Edo. Tsolina's mother is from the state of Ogun. Ayiri and others argue that for this reason Tsola cannot be introduced as Warri’s next Olu. They argue that Oyowoli, the first son of the late Ogiame Ikenwoli, should be the one to come to the throne. However, his insistence on the edict was disputed by the majority of the Itsekiris, who claim that the prophecies were accepted by Tsola and that he should be crowned king.

 

CBN directs Banks to create Mobile App for Forex over ban on sales of Forex to Bureau de Change Operators

The Central Bank of Nigeria has directed Deposit Monetary Banks (DMBs) in Nigeria to create mobile applications and alert systems to update customers of their foreign exchange movement.

This comes after the CBN banned sales of forex to Bureau de Change operators and directed DMBs to establish teller points to fulfill legitimate forex requests from customers.

The new directive was contained in a circular signed by the Director, Banking Supervision Department, Haruna Mustafa with the reference number: BSD/DIR/PUB/LAB/14/082.

The circular reads: "Further to the Monetary Policy Committees (MPC briefing of July 27, 2021, of Deposit Money Banks (DMBs are hereby reminded to set up teller points at designated branches across the country to fulfil legitimate FX requests for Personal Travel Allowance (PTA Business Travel Allowance (BTA), tuition fees, Medical payments, SMEs transactions, amongst others.

60 million Nigerians now have NIN – NIMC

The National Identity Management Commission has announced that there are now 60 million unique National Identity Numbers in the National Identity Database.

NIMC’s Head, Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke made the announcement in a press statement Thursday titled ‘NIMC reaches more than sixty million (60) unique NIN records’.

The statement read, “The National Identity Management Commission is delighted to announce more than 60 million as the total number of unique NIN records in the National Identity Database. This feat couldn’t have been possible without the cooperation of all stakeholders including the general public.

Google slapped $41K fine for data breaches in Russia

Russia has fined Google over $40,000 for failing to store the data of Russian users on local servers.

The Russian government has been seeking to tighten control over the Russian segment of the web and develop a so-called “sovereign internet” and has said foreign technology companies must store Russian users’ data in the country.

Moscow’s Tagansky district court on Thursday found Google guilty of breaching data localisation laws and fined the company 3 million rubles ($41,000), a court spokeswoman told state news agency RIA Novosti.

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham are targeting Nwankwo as a possible partner for Kane.
