Sophia Momodu joined the conversation of whether a child should bear a mother or father’s last name and has shared her own personal experience.
The designer who shares a child with Davido revealed that she was ‘genuinely distraught’ when her daughter wasn’t given her own surname, ‘Momodu’ at birth.
Sophia took to her Instagram stories to note that she cried and argued bit to no avail as her mother and aunties laughter .
Sophia noted that not giving her child the father’s last name would be cutting her daughter off from her lineage and inheritance and though she acquiesced, it hurt her very much.
