Ehi Ogbebor has pulled out old conversations with beauty entrepreneur Adeola “Diiadem” Adeyemi as their ongoing social-media clash continues.
The interior designer shared screenshots of alleged 2020 direct messages in which Diiadem repeatedly asked to accompany her to outings, with one message asking Ehi to “be using me as your handbag when you are going out.”
The screenshots also reportedly include Diiadem asking about using Ehi’s home for photoshoots, adding another layer to Ehi’s attempt to show what their relationship looked like years before the current fallout.
Ehi’s decision to share the conversations comes after Diiadem dragged her into the wider public disagreement involving herself and former friend Dabota Lawson.
According to reports, Diiadem had made claims involving her “big brother,” businessman Olakunle Churchill, and Ehi. Ehi subsequently denied having any relationship or contact with Churchill and responded by bringing out the old messages.
Rather than simply disputing Diiadem’s version of events, Ehi appears to be asking people to look at the historical record she has presented: if this was how Diiadem approached her in 2020, what does that say about their relationship at the time?
The messages reportedly show Diiadem eager to be included in Ehi’s social outings and willing to position herself as someone who wanted access to Ehi’s social circle.
The “handbag” comment is especially striking because it is not Ehi describing Diiadem that way. It is Diiadem, in the alleged old DM, asking Ehi to take her along.
And then there is the request involving Ehi’s house for photoshoots — turning the argument from friendship into a conversation about social access, lifestyle and proximity.
Ehi has also previously shared her own luxury-home history publicly. In 2020, she unveiled the seven-bedroom mansion she said she had built as a birthday gift to herself, saying the project began in December 2018 and took about a year and six months to complete.
The screenshots do not, by themselves, establish who is right about every aspect of the current disagreement.
But they do provide a snapshot of how Diiadem allegedly communicated with Ehi several years ago — and that is clearly the point Ehi wants her followers to notice.
The clash has therefore moved beyond the original allegations. Old friendships, old messages, homes, social circles and competing versions of the past are now becoming part of the public evidence.
There is something very Nigerian about bringing out the old WhatsApp/Instagram receipts when today's version of the friendship starts looking different from yesterday's version.
Because suddenly, the question is no longer just “What happened between these women?”
It becomes: “Wait… is this the same relationship you are describing today?”
