Oreagba stood out at the festival wearing a bright green and yellow traditional outfit while riding a horse. His photo went viral, and people started calling him the “King of Steeze.”
Obi Asika, the head of NCAC, announced this on Instagram, saying: “He represents all that is good about Nigeria, please celebrate him, a true Nigerian original!”
Asika also shared that Oreagba has been battling cancer for ten years but has always stayed positive. He said, “My brother is a fighter, diagnosed with terminal cancer he has been fighting it for a decade and never been anything but positive.”
The Ojude Oba Festival is an important cultural event in Ijebu-Ode, honoring the local king and celebrating Ijebu traditions. While many important people attend, Oreagba’s unique style and personal story made him stand out this year.
Oreagba used to work at the Nigerian Stock Exchange but had to leave in 2014 when he was diagnosed with cancer. After two years of treatment, he was declared cancer-free. He now runs a company called NG Clearing.
His appearance at the festival showed hope, bravery, and the strong Nigerian spirit. The NCAC’s recognition celebrates not just his style, but also his resilience and representation of Nigerian culture.
