The Nigerian Trade Union Congress (NLC) will split some domestic airline companies at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos on Thursday for alleged workers' injuries and the rejection of trade unions in the sector. Mr. Olayinka Abioye, Secretary General of the National Alliance of Nuclear Workers (NUATE), confirmed the development in Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos. Abioye stated that the airline companies that dropped were the Med-View Airline, Air Peace, Azman Air and FirstNation Airways. He said: "Every year, October 7 was proclaimed World Day for the Decent Work of the International Labor Organization (ILO), and this campaign is geared towards this. "It is not just about social welfare issues but about refusing employers to recognize registered trade unions to allow them access to workers for the purpose of their union trade union. "Another critical aspect is that given the sensitive nature of the aviation industry, the fact is that some of these airline companies today have the majority of people working for them as contract or occasional staff. "It's a very dangerous thing to happen in our industry and we can not tolerate it." Abioye added that the list of included aircraft was not only delivered to the NCP, but also to the Government and the National Assembly. He said that NUATE would be associated with the protests of the Nigerian Air Force Senior Aviation Association (ATSSSAN) and the National Association of Aviation Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE).
