The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) says it has closed about 16 petrol filling stations in Sokoto and Kebbi states in the last seven days for allegedly selling above the official pump price.
Mr Mohammed Makera, the Operations Controller of the DPR in Sokoto State Field Office, announced this in Sokoto on today.
Makera said that 10 of the affected filling stations were in Sokoto metropolis while six were located in Argungu, Zuru and Kangiwa local governments in Kebbi State.
