Nigerian Catholic priest,  Kelvin Ugwu shared his thoughts on Pope Francis allowing the Catholic Church to give blessings to same-sex couples.

The
Pope said it's okay for Catholic priests to give their blessings to same-sex couples as long as it's not during regular church services or special occasions like civil unions or weddings.
This is a big change for the Catholic Church.



On
Tuesday, the priest wrote on Facebook that he strongly disapproves of homosexual acts.

A Nigerian Catholic priest named Fr. (Father) Kelvin Ugwu responded to Pope Francis allowing the Catholic Church to give blessings to same-sex couples.

In
a big announcement from the Vatican, the Pope said that Catholic priests can now give their blessings to same-sex couples, but only for civil unions or weddings, not regular church ceremonies.




On
Tuesday, the missionary priest said on Facebook that he strongly believes homosexual acts should be disapproved.

 

"There is nothing like same-sex couple. We should not even use the term "couple" to address them in the first place. Man and man cannot be a couple, woman and woman cannot be a couple. Homosexual acts should be condemned emphatically while respecting the human person. Full stop," he wrote.
