Cardi B responsed to Nicki Minaj who recently attributed the Bodak Yellow rapper’s success to payola and sympathy.
Cardi attempted to fight Nicki at the New York Fashion Week. Speaking on her Queen Radio show, Nicki described the whole experience as “mortifying and humiliating”, before dismissing Cardi’s career by saying that the younger rapper got successful because of sympathy and payola.
Cardi took to her Instagram to let the world know that she earned the spotlight and it was all sheer hard work.
“Numbers don’t fucking lie,” she captioned an unconfirmed list of bestselling albums of 2018.
And in another, she shared the video from when she was still an underground rapper, saying, “Nobody can make you feel like you cheated yourself or you don’t deserve to be where you at when you KNOW YOU WORKED YOURSELF TO THE TOP.”
