Bullion Van Allegedly With Cash Caught Flame in Lagos

A rolled van loaded with an undetermined amount raised flames on Tuesday under the Ojota Bridge in Lagos.
 
 
According to Vanguard, the van that did not have a fire extinguisher was driving towards the toll gate, apparently to pay out money in some banks when the unexpected happened. The exact cause of the fire which occurred at around 2.30 pm could not be immediately determined. However, an eyewitness, Moji Maitani, told reporters:
 
 "I was driving home when suddenly the vehicle directly in front of me turned to another lane. I quickly applied the pause to avoid what the motorist tried to dodge, only to discover that a vehicle was on fire. "On another observation, it was discovered that it was a minivan, and the occupants rushed and reported other drivers to the fire extinguisher, but I could not stop, Not be trapped in a disaster. "
 
Another eyewitness, who asked not to be named, said the money hidden inside the van was completely burned while the escorts could not get close to the van because of the flames.
Lagos State Emergency Management Emergency Director LASEMA, Mr. Tiamiyu Adesina, who confirmed the incident, said that the officials of the Lagos State Fire Department arrived at the scene.
