Prince Jackson hopes Jaafar Jackson gets awards recognition for Michael

Prince Jackson is hoping his cousin, Jaafar Jackson, receives awards recognition for his portrayal of the late Michael Jackson in the biographical film Michael.

Speaking about Jaafar's performance, Prince praised the dedication and discipline his cousin brought to the demanding role, saying he hopes awards-season voters recognise the work behind the performance.

Jaafar, the son of Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine Jackson, made his acting debut by portraying his uncle in the Antoine Fuqua-directed film.

For Prince, watching Jaafar transform into Michael was particularly emotional. The two grew up together at Hayvenhurst, the Jackson family home in California, and Prince has described the experience of making a major film about his father with his cousin as one of the greatest experiences of his life.

Prince is not simply a member of Michael Jackson's family commenting from the sidelines. He served as an executive producer on Michael and was involved in the film's development.

He previously explained that the project was intended to give audiences a deeper understanding of his father's journey, including the work and circumstances that shaped Michael's rise from a young performer with the Jackson 5 to one of the world's biggest entertainers.

The hope for awards recognition comes as Jaafar's performance has already received several honours.

He won Outstanding Performance and Best Newcomer at the 2026 National Film Awards UK, while the film's producers, including Prince Jackson, were recognised with the Best Producer award.

Jaafar has also been selected for further recognition during the 2026 awards season, including an Actor Award from the Critics Choice Association's Celebration of Black Cinema & Television.

The growing recognition is significant because Michael marks Jaafar's first major acting role.

Taking on the role of Michael Jackson was an enormous challenge. Jaafar was not simply portraying a famous musician; he was portraying a member of his own family whose life and career have remained under intense public scrutiny.

Prince previously recalled the emotional moment he first saw Jaafar in costume as his father, explaining that the resemblance brought back powerful memories.

His hope for awards recognition is therefore about more than trophies. It is also recognition of the preparation, responsibility and emotional weight involved in bringing Michael Jackson to the screen.

For Jaafar, the awards-season conversation represents another milestone in a journey that began with the extraordinary challenge of portraying one of the most recognisable entertainers in history.

Adieu, Sir Patrick Stewart: The Extraordinary Legacy of the Star Trek and X-Men Legend

The world of entertainment has lost one of its most distinguished performers. Sir Patrick Stewart, the acclaimed British actor whose commanding performances made him a household name across generations, has died at the age of 86.

Stewart died on October 28, 2026, at his home in Los Angeles. His spokesperson confirmed that he passed away following a brief illness involving Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body dementia. He was surrounded by his wife, Sunny Ozell, family and friends.

His death marks the end of an extraordinary career that connected classical theatre with some of the most successful science-fiction franchises in entertainment history.

Born on July 13, 1940, in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, England, Patrick Stewart developed an interest in acting at an early age.

His professional journey took him into classical theatre, where he became a member of the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company in 1966. Over the years, he established himself as a respected Shakespearean performer, appearing in productions of Hamlet, Macbeth and other celebrated stage works.

His theatre background gave him the discipline, vocal control and commanding presence that would later become defining features of his screen performances.

For millions of television viewers, Stewart will forever be associated with Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Taking command of the USS Enterprise in 1987, he portrayed a thoughtful, principled and intellectually curious captain whose leadership style became central to the show's identity.

Unlike the conventional action hero, Picard often relied on diplomacy, reason, ethical judgement and difficult conversations to resolve conflicts.

Stewart returned to the character in subsequent Star Trek films and the television series Star Trek: Picard, extending his connection with the franchise across several decades.

A new generation of audiences came to know Stewart through his portrayal of Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise.

As the founder and mentor of the X-Men, Xavier represented compassion, education and the possibility of peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants.

His relationship with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine became one of the franchise's most memorable character dynamics.

Stewart's performance reached another emotional level in Logan (2017), where he portrayed an ageing and vulnerable Xavier. The role demonstrated his ability to move beyond the commanding characters that had made him famous.

He received three Olivier Awards for his theatre performances and a Grammy Award for his spoken-word recording of Peter and the Wolf. He was also nominated for a Tony Award for his Broadway performance in Macbeth.

In 2001, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), before being knighted in 2010 for his services to drama. These honours reflected a career that never belonged exclusively to film or television. Stewart remained deeply connected to the theatre throughout his life.

Following news of his death, colleagues and friends shared tributes celebrating his talent, generosity and influence.

Hugh Jackman, his co-star in the X-Men films, remembered Stewart as a tremendous friend and a gifted performer from whom he learned a great deal.

William Shatner also honoured him, describing him as a magnificent actor whose portrayal of Captain Picard brought intelligence, grace and humanity to the screen.

Jonathan Frakes, who played William Riker alongside Stewart in Star Trek: The Next Generation, also paid tribute to their long professional relationship and friendship.

What makes Patrick Stewart's career particularly remarkable is the way he moved between different acting worlds without losing his identity as a performer.

He could command a futuristic starship, lead a group of extraordinary mutants, interpret Shakespeare on stage and bring emotional depth to characters in smaller productions.

His classical training was never separate from his popular entertainment success. Instead, it helped give his most recognisable characters the authority and humanity that audiences connected with.

Stewart is survived by his wife, singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell, and his two children, Daniel and Sophie.

His legacy will remain in the theatre productions that showcased his craft, the television series that introduced him to millions and the films that made his performances part of popular culture.

Adieu, Sir Patrick Stewart. You gave generations of audiences characters they will never forget.

Polygamy is not a sin - Yul Edochie

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has reignited conversations about polygamy after publicly declaring that having multiple wives is not a sin, citing biblical examples to support his position.

The actor shared his views on X on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, while reacting to the news of American pastor Israel Ford's second marriage.

“POLYGAMY IS NOT A SIN,” Yul declared.

He went on to argue that several prominent men in the Bible had multiple wives without being condemned by God.

“Even in the bible, many great men there had many wives and God never had issues with them. He was even willing to give them more,” he wrote.

The actor took his argument further, suggesting that some men are naturally destined to marry more than one woman but settle for monogamy because they do not understand their purpose or fear society's judgement.

He wrote:

“Today, many men are destined to have many wives but because they don’t know who they are and scared of what society will say they end up having just one and life doesn’t seem to be working for them.”

Yul subsequently expressed agreement with Pastor Ford's position, adding: “I totally agree. It is the will of God.”

His statement followed the announcement by US-based pastor Israel Ford of LifeWorks Church in Wickliffe, Ohio, who introduced Shakayla Ford as his second wife during a church service on October 25.

Ford appeared alongside his first wife, Lydia Ford, during the announcement and defended his interpretation of biblical marriage, arguing that Christianity does not necessarily prohibit a man from having more than one wife.

The pastor's decision generated considerable discussion online, with supporters and critics debating whether polygamy is compatible with Christian teachings.

Freedom of religion does not give someone an exemption from laws prohibiting polygamous marriage. The US Supreme Court addressed this in Reynolds v. United States (1879).

A pastor can publicly announce or celebrate a second religious marriage, but that does not mean the United States legally recognises him as having two wives.

Yul's comments have attracted additional attention because of his own marital history.

In April 2022, the actor publicly announced that he had married actress Judy Austin as his second wife. The announcement generated widespread controversy and public discussion about his marriage to his first wife, May Edochie.

Since then, Yul has repeatedly defended his position on polygamy, making the subject a recurring part of his social media conversations.

Yul's declaration touches on a long-standing disagreement about biblical marriage.

The Bible contains accounts of men who had multiple wives, including Abraham, Jacob, David and Solomon. However, the presence of polygamous marriages in biblical narratives does not, by itself, settle the question of whether Christianity endorses the practice.

Different Christian denominations interpret biblical teachings on marriage differently. Many churches uphold monogamy as the Christian ideal, while others distinguish between the historical practice of polygamy and the requirements they believe apply to Christian marriage today.

Yul's comments have therefore reopened a conversation that goes beyond his personal circumstances, raising questions about scripture, religious interpretation, marriage and cultural expectations.

Is polygamy a matter of personal choice, biblical permission or religious conviction?

That is the debate his statement has brought back into the spotlight.

Basketmouth Shakes a Major Table Over Nigerians Flaunting Wealth on Social Media

Basketmouth has shaken a major table with a pointed message directed at people who regularly flaunt their luxury cars, mansions and expensive lifestyles on social media.

The comedian, whose real name is Bright Okpocha, questioned who people displaying fleets of expensive vehicles and luxurious properties online are actually trying to impress.

In a post shared on his Instagram Story on Monday, October 26, 2026, Basketmouth wrote:

“When you post your fleet of cars and your mansions on social media, who exactly are you trying to impress? The rich, who probably have way better? Or the poor, who can only admire from a distance ... if they have data.”

The comedian did not stop at social media displays. He also questioned the practicality of spending billions of naira on supercars in a city where poor road conditions and flooding can make driving difficult.

“You spend billions on supercars you can barely drive in Lagos. Is your garage a race track? Meanwhile, the potholes are getting bigger and the floods are getting deeper,” he added.

Basketmouth concluded his message with a statement that captured the central point of his argument:

“True wealth doesn't need an audience ... it moves in silence.”

His comments generated mixed reactions online.

While some Nigerians agreed that social media has turned wealth display into a competition for attention and validation, others argued that people should be free to enjoy and showcase the things they have worked hard to acquire.

Some also suggested that displaying luxury possessions can be a personal choice, a form of celebration or even a way of promoting business interests.

Basketmouth's remarks have therefore reopened a familiar conversation about wealth, privacy, social validation and the pressure to demonstrate success online.

In an age where luxury cars, designer fashion, expensive holidays and impressive homes frequently dominate social media feeds, visible wealth has become one way people communicate achievement.

Basketmouth's observation raises another question: does genuine financial success require public recognition?

His message also draws attention to the contrast between private luxury and the everyday infrastructure challenges experienced by residents navigating Lagos.

Whether people agree with his position or not, the comedian has certainly given social media users another topic to debate.

Tania Omotayo Meets Luxury Shoe Designer Christian Louboutin at ALÁRA Lagos

Nigerian Austrian beauty Tania Omotayo had a special fashion moment at ALÁRA Lagos after meeting renowned French footwear designer Christian Louboutin.

The encounter brought together 2 names associated with fashion and luxury, placing attention on the designer behind one of the most recognisable signatures in high-end footwear: the iconic red sole.

Christian Louboutin has built an international reputation through shoes characterised by sculpted silhouettes, dramatic heels, pointed toes and elegant proportions. His designs are instantly recognisable for their red-lacquered soles, a signature that has become a defining feature of the luxury fashion house.

Louboutin's footwear is designed to make a visual statement. The dramatic heel heights, carefully shaped silhouettes and pointed profiles create an elongated appearance, drawing attention to the legs and the overall line of an outfit.

The red sole adds another dimension to the design. What began as a distinctive visual detail has evolved into one of luxury fashion's most recognisable brand signatures.

However, the appeal of a Louboutin shoe is primarily rooted in design, craftsmanship and fashion identity rather than a promise of everyday comfort. High heels, particularly dramatic styles, can place pressure on the feet, and comfort varies according to the shoe's construction, heel height and individual fit.

For fashion enthusiasts, Christian Louboutin represents a particular approach to luxury footwear: shoes that are intended to be noticed. His designs have become familiar on red carpets, at fashion events and in the wardrobes of celebrities and collectors around the world.

Tania Omotayo's meeting with the designer at ALÁRA Lagos therefore offers a fashionable moment that connects Lagos's luxury retail scene with an internationally recognised name in footwear.

The encounter also brings attention to the distinction between fashion that prioritises visual impact and footwear designed primarily for practical, everyday wear.

After all, a Christian Louboutin shoe is not simply about walking comfortably. It is also about silhouette, presence and the unmistakable statement of the red sole.

Don Jazzy Gives Out Millions to Followers Seeking Financial Help in Surprise Cash Giveaway

Don Jazzy has once again demonstrated his generosity towards social media followers, sending financial assistance to several people who reached out to him with personal requests for help.

The Mavin Records founder announced the surprise giveaway on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, October 25, 2026, inviting people to explain their financial challenges and state how much they needed.

“Ok long time no Don’s blessings. Make I do small El nino for some people,” he wrote.

Following the announcement, his comment section quickly filled with requests from Nigerians seeking assistance with different expenses, including rent, school fees, medical bills and business needs.

Rather than simply asking followers to send their account details, Don Jazzy requested that they explain how much they needed and what the money would be used for.

The music executive subsequently began making transfers to selected individuals. Reports of the giveaway documented payments ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦2 million, with recipients sharing their excitement and appreciation online.

The financial assistance generated emotional reactions from beneficiaries, some of whom expressed gratitude after receiving money they said would help ease their financial burdens.

The giveaway also attracted attention because Don Jazzy has built a reputation for responding to followers who approach him with requests for financial support.

His latest gesture follows several previous instances of online generosity, including a widely reported ₦6 million gift to a woman in May 2025 after he noticed her bank account balance was just ₦67.29.

For many Nigerians, social media has become a place to seek assistance from public figures who have the resources to make a difference.

Don Jazzy's approach allows followers to communicate their needs directly, although not every request can necessarily receive a response.

His latest giveaway has once again brought attention to the role celebrities can play in offering direct financial assistance to individuals navigating difficult circumstances.

As reactions continue, the gesture raises an interesting question: could more public figures use their social media platforms to provide practical help to people who genuinely need it?

Tiwa Savage Deserves To Be Applauded For Living Her Life After Her Leaked S** T^P3 - Pastor.

A Nigerian pastor has praised singer Tiwa Savage for continuing to live her life and pursue her career despite the public controversy surrounding the leak of an intimate video involving her.

The pastor argued that Tiwa deserves applause rather than continued judgment, particularly for refusing to allow the incident to define her identity or derail her life.

The singer faced intense public attention after an intimate video involving her was circulated online. The incident generated widespread discussion and commentary, placing her private life under an uncomfortable level of public scrutiny.

Rather than allowing the controversy to become the defining story of her career, Tiwa continued with her music, public appearances and professional commitments.

According to the pastor, Tiwa's ability to move forward deserves recognition.

The argument is less about the circumstances surrounding the leaked video and more about what happened afterwards: the singer continued working, appearing publicly and maintaining her career despite the embarrassment and judgment attached to the incident.

For a public figure whose personal life is constantly exposed to public commentary, rebuilding normalcy after such an experience can be difficult.

The pastor's comments therefore shift the conversation from the leaked material itself to the question of how society treats people after an intimate privacy violation.

The reaction to Tiwa's situation also highlights the double standards that often surround female celebrities.

When private material involving a woman becomes public, discussions can quickly move from the violation of her privacy to judgments about her character, choices and worth.

Tiwa's decision to continue living publicly challenges that cycle.

Rather than allowing one deeply personal incident to become the permanent definition of her story, she has continued to build her career and participate in public life.

The pastor's message is ultimately a call to allow people to move beyond their most embarrassing moments.

For Tiwa Savage, the applause may not simply be for surviving a controversy. It may be for refusing to let other people's judgment determine how the rest of her story is written.

“They called me unprofessional, rude, and stupid simply because I know who they are and had the courage to confront them with facts. They looted public wealth and destroyed countless lives. In Nigeria, speaking the truth is treated as disrespect, while ruining the country is celebrated as leadership. I will not bulge not for anyone, and not for anything.” — Rufai Oseni.

Arise News anchor Rufai Oseni has responded to criticism over his outspoken approach, saying he will not back down from confronting powerful figures when he believes he has facts to support his position.

In a statement shared online, Rufai said he had been called “unprofessional, rude, and stupid” because he knew who he was addressing and had the courage to confront them with what he described as facts.

He further accused unnamed individuals of looting public wealth and contributing to the destruction of countless lives, framing his criticism as part of a broader frustration with how political accountability is treated in Nigeria.

“In Nigeria, speaking the truth is treated as disrespect, while ruining the country is celebrated as leadership.”

Rufai ended his statement with a declaration that he would not be intimidated or pressured into changing his position.

“I will not budge, not for anyone, and not for anything.”

The broadcaster has become known for his direct style when questioning politicians and public officials, making him a frequent subject of both praise and criticism online.

His latest remarks have once again sparked discussion about the line between aggressive journalism, accountability and perceived disrespect when journalists confront people in positions of power.

For Rufai, however, the criticism does not appear to have changed his position: he says he intends to continue speaking his mind and challenging those he believes should be held accountable.

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos, is now married to Pastor Mo Jasmyne. Pastor Tunde Bakare of The Cutadel Church, blessed the marriage today during the church service in Fountain of life church.

Pastor Jimmy Othniel Odukoya has remarried, introducing his new wife, Pastor Mo Odukoya, to members of The Fountain of Life Church during Sunday service in Lagos on November 1, 2026.

The senior pastor made the announcement at the church's headquarters in Ilupeju, bringing his wife forward to meet the congregation amid cheers and congratulations.

The introduction followed a social media post shared by Jimmy a day earlier. He posted a photograph of two hands wearing wedding rings with the caption, “To New Beginnings,” prompting speculation about his relationship status.

During the service, Jimmy spoke about navigating life alone since assuming leadership of the church. Referring to the biblical account of Adam finding a suitable companion, he explained that he had found someone to share his journey.

He then introduced her to the congregation, saying:

“Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you for the first time, Pastor Mrs Odukoya.”

Mo also addressed the congregation, describing it as an honour to stand alongside her husband.

Pastor Tunde Bakare, General Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, was present to pray for and bless the couple.

The moment marked a public celebration of their marriage and the introduction of Mo Odukoya as the new first lady of The Fountain of Life Church.

Before his remarriage, Jimmy was married to Oluwakemi Sade Banjoko, popularly known as Kemi Odukoya. They tied the knot in London on March 9, 2013, and have two children together. Their marriage subsequently ended in separation, then divorce.

Jimmy became senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church following the death of his father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, in August 2023.

His remarriage marks a new personal milestone as he continues his leadership of the Lagos-based church.

From his cryptic wedding-ring photograph to introducing his wife before the congregation, Jimmy Odukoya has now shared his new beginning publicly.

Toyin Abraham Dragged Over TikTok Throwback After Funke Akindele’s Facebook Partnership

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has found herself at the centre of fresh social media criticism after revisiting her previous TikTok experience, shortly after Funke Akindele announced a partnership with Facebook to promote her upcoming movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone.

The timing of Toyin’s post triggered comparisons between the actresses, with some social media users questioning why she chose that moment to highlight her previous TikTok engagement. Others defended her, arguing that she was simply celebrating an earlier professional experience while building anticipation for her next film.

On Friday, October 30, 2026, Toyin shared a throwback post connected to TikTok’s #WhatToWatch Cinema Experience, which took place in December 2025 during the promotional period for her film, Oversabi Aunty.

In her caption, she wrote:

“Throwback to when TikTok collaborated with OVERSABI AUNTY! It was such a beautiful experience, and I’m looking forward to more amazing collaborations as we gear up for BESTIE. More magic, more creativity and bigger moments ahead!”

She also used the opportunity to promote Bestie, her forthcoming movie scheduled for December 16, 2026.

The post came a day after Funke announced her partnership with Facebook for The Four: No One Fights Alone.

The collaboration will cover promotional activities surrounding the film's London world premiere and Lagos homecoming premiere, including behind-the-scenes content and access to premiere experiences. Meta, Facebook's parent company, publicly confirmed the arrangement.

Funke described the partnership as an opportunity to take her film to a wider international audience, attracting congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues.

Following Funke's announcement, some fans began comparing the actresses' promotional strategies. When Toyin subsequently revisited her TikTok experience, critics interpreted the timing as an attempt to remind audiences that she had also engaged with a major social media platform for film promotion.

However, there is an important distinction between the two activities.

A report by Premium Times found that Toyin's photograph came from TikTok's #WhatToWatch Cinema Experience, an industry event attended by filmmakers, actors and content creators. Although she spoke about using TikTok to promote films, the newspaper found no evidence that the event itself represented a formal promotional partnership with Oversabi Aunty.

Funke's Facebook arrangement, by contrast, was publicly confirmed by Meta as a partnership specifically covering promotional activities for The Four.

The reactions were divided. Some users criticised Toyin for bringing up the old TikTok experience so soon after Funke's announcement, while others accused fans of turning ordinary promotional activities into unnecessary competition.

Supporters also argued that Toyin should be allowed to celebrate her previous achievements without every post being interpreted through the lens of her relationship with another actress.

The discussion has once again revived the long-running comparisons between the two Nollywood stars, whose films and promotional campaigns frequently attract attention from competing fan communities.

Two Filmmakers Preparing for December Releases

Beyond the online debate, both actresses are preparing for major cinema releases.

Funke Akindele's The Four: No One Fights Alone is scheduled for December 11, 2026, while Toyin Abraham's Bestie is expected in cinemas on December 16.

With both films entering the December cinema conversation, their promotional campaigns are likely to attract further attention.

But perhaps the more interesting question is why two actresses promoting their respective projects continue to have their professional milestones measured against each other.

Adefunkeee Adefule Gets the Ultimate Birthday Surprise from Friends

Lagos hairstylist and beauty entrepreneur Adefunkeee was celebrated with a surprise birthday party surrounded by friends and loved ones, giving followers a glimpse into the personal relationships behind one of Nigeria's recognisable beauty brands. Known for her work as a “Pioneer of the Lagos Hairline.” She operates a salon, luxury hair  frontal and lace-wig specialist and for building the Adefunkeee hair and beauty brand, the celebration offered a more personal side of the entrepreneur beyond her work in the beauty industry.

The Veekee James inspired surprise was designed to catch Adefunkeee off guard, with friends coming together to make the occasion memorable. Rather than being another professional appearance or beauty-industry gathering, the celebration centred on the birthday girl and the people closest to her.

The atmosphere quickly shifted from surprise to celebration as Adefunkeee took in the effort that had gone into bringing everyone together. The photographs and videos from the occasion capture the excitement that usually comes with a genuine birthday surprise — the reveal, the reactions and the moments shared afterwards.

The celebration has particular resonance because Adefunkeee has built a sizeable audience around beauty, hair and fashion. Her Instagram account is currently tracked at almost 500,000 followers, while her business portfolio includes a salon, luxury hair and beauty products.

That makes the personal side of the celebration part of the story. Adefunkeee's public image is largely built around transformation — installing hair, creating polished looks and helping clients prepare for important occasions. Her birthday, by contrast, placed the focus on her and on the people who showed up to celebrate her.

There are different ways to read a surprise birthday party. For some, it is simply a fun celebration. For others, the effort involved in secretly organising an event says something about friendship — particularly the willingness of people to put time, planning and thought into making someone else feel special.

Behind the entrepreneur, hairstylist and beauty creator is a person with relationships that exist away from the camera and the salon. A birthday surprise offers a rare glimpse of that private social world.

When the person who spends her career making other people feel beautiful becomes the one everyone else gathers around to celebrate, who gets to make her feel special?

Jimmy Odukoya Sparks Remarriage Speculation With Cryptic Wedding-Ring Photograph

A photograph shared by Nigerian pastor and actor Jimmy Odukoya has caught the attention of social media users, with many wondering whether it hints at a new marriage.

The image features two hands wearing wedding rings, accompanied by the caption, “To New Beginnings.” Although the post offers little explanation, its combination of wedding jewellery and suggestive wording has prompted followers to interpret it as a possible reference to a fresh chapter in his personal life.

Rather than making a direct announcement, the post leaves room for interpretation. The wedding rings naturally drew attention, while the caption added to the curiosity surrounding the image.

Some viewers have interpreted the photograph as a possible hint of remarriage, while others are waiting for Jimmy to provide further clarification.

However, the image alone does not establish that a wedding has taken place. It does not identify the other person, confirm the circumstances behind the photograph or provide a wedding date.

Personal milestones involving public figures often generate considerable interest, particularly when they are communicated through subtle social media messages rather than formal announcements.

In this case, the combination of wedding rings and the words “To New Beginnings” has encouraged speculation about what the actor and pastor may be communicating.

Until he shares more information, the photograph remains open to interpretation ,speculations and assumptions.

For now, the central bias is whether the image represents a personal milestone or simply a symbolic message about a new beginning.

Yung Miami Writes Emotional Song “Dear JT” Addressing City Girls Fallout

Yung Miami has turned a painful chapter of her personal life into music, releasing “Dear JT,” an emotional track addressing her strained relationship with former City Girls groupmate and longtime friend JT. The song appears on her debut solo album, Watch Dis!, released on October 23, 2026, and has drawn attention because it revisits the friendship behind one of hip-hop’s former female rap duos.

“From matchin' pink sets to big jets to writin' checks” - Caresha writes

On “Dear JT,” Miami looks back on the years before fame, recalling the struggles, memories and experiences she shared with JT before they became household names through City Girls.

She describes their public disagreement as embarrassing and reflects on how their relationship changed over time. One of the song’s most emotional sentiments is her belief that they could have made history together.

The track samples Diana Ross’ “Missing You,” adding to its nostalgic and melancholic mood. Tiffany Evans also contributes vocals to the record.

During an interview with Nessa Diab on HOT 97, Yung Miami revealed that she cried while recording “Dear JT.” She explained that she wanted to put her real emotions into the music, describing the song as a letter to someone she still considers her sister.

Miami also confirmed that JT had not heard the song before its release. She said she would answer if JT ever reached out to call, leaving room for the possibility of reconciliation.

Yung Miami and JT formed City Girls in 2017 and rose to mainstream prominence with records including “Act Up” and “Twerk.” Their friendship and musical partnership became a major part of their public identity.

Tensions became public in 2024 after the pair exchanged accusations and disagreements on social media. Their professional paths subsequently diverged, leaving fans questioning whether the duo would ever reunite.

The song is more than another record about a former music partnership. It brings attention to the personal history behind the City Girls' success and the complicated experience of watching a close friendship change under the pressures of fame, public scrutiny and separate careers.

For listeners who followed the duo from their early days, the track offers a different perspective on their separation: not simply two artists pursuing solo careers, but two friends reflecting on a shared past.

Yung Miami has not announced a City Girls reunion, and JT has not publicly responded to the song in the reports surrounding its release. However, Miami's comments suggest she is not completely closed to a conversation.

Whether “Dear JT” leads to reconciliation or simply gives Miami an opportunity to express feelings she has carried for years remains to be seen.

Can a friendship survive the pressures of fame and separate ambitions, or does growing apart sometimes become part of the story?

Kenny Smith Reveals He Finally Underwent Double Knee Replacement Surgery

Former NBA champion and Inside the NBA analyst Kenny Smith has revealed that he finally underwent double knee replacement surgery after years of dealing with an unusual knee condition that affected the way he walked.

Smith shared the news during the premiere of the new Inside the NBA season, showing off his new knees after undergoing the procedures during the offseason.

Smith's knees have been a recurring subject of jokes among his Inside the NBA colleagues, particularly Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley, who have frequently teased him about the way his legs bend.

The former Houston Rockets guard explained that the condition was connected to a childhood injury that caused his knees to turn inward. His unusual gait had also become a familiar talking point among basketball fans whenever he appeared on television.

According to the report shared by Courtside Buzz on October 22, 2026, Smith underwent double knee replacement surgery during the offseason.

His decision marks a significant step after years of living with the condition. The procedure has also brought renewed attention to the childhood injury behind his distinctive walking style.

Following the reveal, fans reacted with messages of encouragement and relief, with many wishing the basketball legend a smooth recovery.

The announcement also brought back memories of the jokes made about his knees on Inside the NBA, although the conversation has now shifted towards his health and recovery.

Known as “The Jet,” Smith played in the NBA from 1987 to 1997 and won two NBA championships with the Houston Rockets. He later became a prominent television analyst, joining the Inside the NBA team and building a second career in sports broadcasting.

His surgery is a reminder that the physical demands of professional basketball can have effects long after a player's career ends.

After years of jokes about his knees, Kenny Smith is now focusing on recovery and a new chapter in his health journey.

11 People Shot Near FAMU Stadium During Homecoming Weekend, Including Six Juveniles — 15-Year-Old Arrested

What was supposed to be a weekend of celebration at Florida A&M University (FAMU) turned into a frightening scene after gunfire erupted near the university's Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. Eleven people were shot, including six juveniles, following the school's homecoming football game on Saturday, October 24, 2026. A 12th person was also injured while trying to escape the gunfire, and the incident has raised fresh concerns about public safety at large community celebrations.

The shooting occurred shortly before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Perry and Manatee streets, close to the stadium. Crowds were leaving the homecoming football celebration after FAMU played the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Preliminary police findings indicate that a physical altercation broke out before shots were fired. Investigators have not established that the shooting was directly connected to the football game itself.

The victims included six adults and six juveniles. The youngest person shot was reportedly 11 years old. Police said at least three victims suffered serious injuries, and one was in critical condition. Another person, identified in reporting as a victim's grandmother, sustained an ankle injury while fleeing the scene.

The case took a significant turn on Monday, October 26, when Tallahassee police announced the arrest of 15-year-old Anthony Rivers III. According to CBS News, he faces 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent. Police said the investigation remains active and additional arrests are possible. The charges are allegations, and the teenager is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The incident has drawn attention because homecoming is traditionally one of the most anticipated occasions in the HBCU calendar. It brings together students, alumni, families and visitors for football, music, reunions and campus traditions. The presence of six juvenile shooting victims, including an 11-year-old, has intensified questions about how young people can be protected when large crowds gather around celebratory events.

Florida A&M University said the shooting occurred near campus and reassured the university community that the campus remained safe. University president Marva Johnson expressed sadness over the violence and offered support to those affected. FAMU's head football coach, Quinn Gray, also condemned the incident, saying that no argument or altercation was worth someone losing their life. Police have asked witnesses and anyone with photographs or videos to assist the investigation.

The wider issue goes beyond one homecoming weekend. When a dispute escalates into gunfire in a crowded public area, people who may have had no involvement in the original disagreement can be caught in the danger. The shooting also highlights the challenge of securing large public gatherings while preserving the welcoming atmosphere that makes university traditions meaningful.

A homecoming celebration should end with memories, reunions and safe journeys home — not hospital visits and criminal investigations. As families wait for answers and victims continue recovering, an important question remains: how can universities and local communities make major celebrations safer without allowing fear to take away the joy of coming together?

Paris Protests Intensify as Demonstrators Declare “We Are France” — What Is Driving the Unrest?

Paris has witnessed another wave of demonstrations as thousands of people took to the streets in France over rising living costs, poor public services and growing dissatisfaction with government policies. Among the striking messages captured during the protests was a banner reading “We Are France” — a declaration of national identity and solidarity that reflects the wider frustration driving the movement. The demonstrations matter because they have grown beyond student complaints into a broader challenge involving workers, families and young people demanding to be heard.

The protest movement initially gained momentum in September after teachers and students raised concerns about staff shortages, overcrowded classrooms and deteriorating school facilities. Demonstrations spread from schools in the Paris suburbs to other parts of the country, attracting parents, teachers, university students and labour organisations.

By October 17, the demonstrations had escalated significantly. The Associated Press reported that authorities estimated approximately 550,000 people participated nationwide, while organisers put the figure at around 800,000. In Paris, protesters marched with French flags and placards criticising the government, wealth inequality and the cost of living. Some demonstrations remained peaceful, while other areas experienced clashes, fires, vandalism and looting.

The protests have continued to attract attention because the grievances extend beyond education. Rising food, fuel and energy costs have added to public frustration, while concerns about inequality and the quality of public services have brought different groups together. The movement also recalls France's 2018 Yellow Vest demonstrations, which similarly channelled anger over economic pressure and social inequality.

The message “We Are France” is particularly striking because it presents the demonstrations as an expression of belonging and national identity. Rather than simply rejecting the country, protesters are asserting that they, too, represent France and believe their concerns deserve recognition. Reuters footage from October 17 documented the banner among several other protest messages. There is no verified evidence in that footage that the crowd's official slogan was “We Aren't Americans.”

However, the demonstrations have produced different reactions. Protesters and supporters argue that peaceful public demonstrations are necessary when people feel ignored by political leaders. The French government has condemned violence and property destruction, while authorities have pointed to criminal groups and clashes with police. It is important to distinguish the wider protest movement from individuals who engage in vandalism or violence.

For observers outside France, the events offer a reminder that economic pressure, public services and confidence in political leadership can become connected issues. A protest that begins with demands for better schools can develop into a much wider conversation about affordability, opportunity and whose concerns receive attention.

Ultimately, the question is not simply why people are marching through Paris. It is whether the government can address the grievances that brought them into the streets before public frustration deepens further. When citizens declare that they are France, what does it say about a country when so many feel they must take to the streets to make their voices count?

DJ Khaled Endorses Kim Kardashian’s UPDATE Drink: What the Celebrity Connection Could Mean for the Brand

DJ Khaled Endorses Kim Kardashian’s UPDATE Energy Drink

DJ Khaled is reportedly endorsing UPDATE, with a social media shout out beside Corey smoking a cuban- the energy drink associated with Kim Kardashian’s latest business venture. The development brings together two high-profile entertainment personalities and creates a potential talking point around celebrity influence, product visibility and the business of energy drinks.

Kim Kardashian joined UPDATE as a co-founder during its February 2026 relaunch. The company introduced new branding and a retail expansion strategy, with Walmart distribution announced as part of its plans.

UPDATE is not simply a celebrity-branded soft drink. It is an energy beverage built around paraxanthine, a compound the body naturally produces when it metabolises caffeine. The company markets its formulation around focused energy and fewer of the unpleasant effects associated with traditional energy drinks. Those are brand claims, not guarantees that every consumer will experience those benefits.

Kim’s involvement also goes beyond appearing in an advertisement. Reporting on the relaunch describes her participation in packaging, product positioning and creative direction. The new visual identity connects the beverage with her established image of minimalist design and premium lifestyle branding.

A celebrity can contribute more than recognition. The right public figure can help a product communicate a particular identity, attract a new audience and become more memorable in a crowded market.

A celebrity mention may cause someone to search for a drink, watch a campaign or share a post. That does not automatically mean the person will purchase it, buy it again or recommend it to someone else.

For a brand, the longer-term test is whether awareness translates into repeat purchases, distribution growth and a clear reason for consumers to choose the product over its competitors.

First, familiarity can reduce the barrier to attention. A recognisable celebrity gives a product an immediate cultural reference point. Consumers who would otherwise scroll past an unfamiliar drink may stop to find out what it is.

Second, social proof can influence curiosity. When a familiar public figure is seen supporting a product, some consumers may interpret that association as a reason to investigate it. But celebrity approval is not scientific evidence of product quality or effectiveness.

Third, the brand can acquire meaning beyond its physical contents. A drink may be marketed not only as a beverage but as part of a lifestyle associated with productivity, ambition, fitness or status. UPDATE's positioning and Kardashian's involvement illustrate how product design and personal branding can work together.

For consumers, the story offers a useful reminder: a famous person can make a product more visible, but the product still has to justify the purchase.

For entrepreneurs, it demonstrates why brand partnerships should be evaluated against the audience reached, the credibility of the association, the cost of the campaign and the commercial results.

For readers following celebrity business ventures, it raises a more revealing question than who endorsed what: can a celebrity connection turn attention into lasting consumer demand?

Ebola Patient Evacuated From Nigeria to Switzerland by Air Ambulance as Health Officials Monitor Contacts

Nigeria’s first confirmed Ebola patient in the current outbreak was medically evacuated from Abuja to Switzerland on October 26, 2026, after Nigerian doctors stabilised her condition. The 42-year-old Ugandan-born woman, who is married to a Swiss diplomat based in Nigeria, was transferred aboard a medical evacuation aircraft for continued treatment. Her husband accompanied her and was placed in isolation in Switzerland because he was considered a close contact. Nigerian authorities confirmed that the evacuation was conducted under strict infection-prevention protocols.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) confirmed the woman’s infection with the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola virus disease on October 20. According to the agency’s October 27 situation report, she had travelled from Uganda through Addis Ababa and arrived in Abuja on October 3. Her symptoms began on October 7, and she was admitted to a private health facility on October 11.

Following confirmation of the infection, Nigerian health authorities activated emergency response measures, including contact tracing, laboratory testing and infection-control procedures. The patient was treated in isolation before her transfer to Switzerland.

Health Minister Muhammad Ali Pate said the woman’s condition had improved significantly. She was stable, conscious and communicating, with laboratory results moving towards baseline levels. However, clinical improvement did not automatically mean she was no longer infectious.

The evacuation followed a formal request from the Swiss Embassy and consultations involving Nigerian health authorities. NCDC Director-General Jide Idris said the decision considered diplomatic arrangements, the patient’s rights and international health regulations, alongside assurances that appropriate infection-control measures would be maintained throughout the journey.

The World Health Organization’s Africa regional director also credited Nigerian medical personnel with stabilising the patient after managing the acute phase of her illness. Switzerland subsequently assumed responsibility for her continued treatment, while her husband was isolated for monitoring.

The transfer illustrates how international medical evacuations can be coordinated when a patient requires specialised care and strict measures are necessary to protect healthcare workers and the public.

The patient’s departure did not mean Nigeria could immediately abandon its public-health response. The NCDC’s October 27 situation report recorded one confirmed case and 62 identified contacts, with no additional positive contacts reported at that reporting point.

Contact tracing remains important because people exposed to Ebola may develop symptoms after the initial case has been identified or transferred. Monitoring helps health officials detect potential infections early and prevent further transmission.

The case also highlights the importance of international travel surveillance. Investigators were examining the woman’s travel history to establish how she contracted the Bundibugyo strain. Her precise source of infection had not been conclusively established in the reports available at the time.

The confirmed case warrants vigilance, but it is important to distinguish a single confirmed infection from evidence of widespread transmission. Following the evacuation, the World Health Organization said Nigeria had no remaining active confirmed Ebola cases, while emphasising that contact monitoring and containment measures needed to continue.

Ebola is primarily transmitted through direct contact with the blood or other bodily fluids of an infected person, or contaminated materials. It is not spread through the air in the same way as influenza or COVID-19.

People should follow guidance from the NCDC and other public-health authorities, practise good hygiene and seek prompt medical advice if they develop compatible symptoms after a relevant exposure. Unverified claims, rumours and supposed herbal cures should not replace professional medical guidance.

The evacuation is more than an international medical transfer. It raises important questions about Nigeria’s ability to detect imported infections, protect healthcare workers, coordinate across borders and maintain surveillance after a patient has left the country.

It also demonstrates why responsible reporting must distinguish between a patient’s improving condition and the end of an infection risk. Effective outbreak control depends not only on treating the confirmed patient but also on identifying contacts, investigating the source and maintaining public confidence through transparent communication.

The patient’s evacuation was an important step in her continued care, but the effectiveness of Nigeria’s response also depends on what happens next—particularly contact monitoring, accurate information and continued vigilance.

“People Reveal Themselves in Time” — Toke Makinwa Reflects on Character and Relationships

Toke Makinwa has shared a reflection on how people’s true character can become clearer over time. The statement, “People reveal themselves in time,” speaks to the importance of observing people’s actions rather than relying solely on first impressions or promises.

The message raises a familiar question in relationships and friendships: how well can we really know someone before we have seen how they behave in different circumstances?

People may present themselves differently depending on the situation. The way someone behaves when life is comfortable may not tell the whole story of how they will respond to disappointment, conflict, responsibility or changing circumstances.

Over time, repeated actions can reveal patterns that initial attraction, charm or impressive promises may obscure. This does not mean that every change in behaviour proves someone has bad intentions. It means that consistent observation provides more information than assumptions based on a single encounter.

The statement also speaks to the importance of discernment. In friendships, romantic relationships and professional partnerships, people need time to assess whether someone’s actions align with their words.

Trust can develop gradually as people demonstrate honesty, reliability, respect and accountability. When inconsistencies emerge, they can be evaluated alongside the wider context rather than dismissed automatically or treated as definitive proof of someone's character.

Toke Makinwa’s statement offers an opportunity to reflect on the difference between knowing what someone says about themselves and understanding what their behaviour consistently demonstrates.

Time does not automatically reveal everything about a person, and one difficult moment does not define an entire character. However, repeated behaviour across different circumstances can provide meaningful evidence.

Rather than rushing to idealise someone or condemn them, give yourself room to observe, evaluate and reach an independent conclusion.
