Comedian Julius Agwu broke down in tears after he recently recalled how his life took a different turn for him.
Julius used to be one of Nigeria’s most sought-after comedians back in the day. He made waves with his music-comedian track, Handwork, which he released in 2006 and his amazing comedy shows. Life took a different turn for him sometime in May 2015 when he had a seizure at home and that was the beginning of his battle with a brain ailment. He had a successful brain surgery in May 2016 and thankfully survived that trying time in his life.
While appearing on Beer Parlour Talkshow recently, Julius recounted how life took a different turn for him after his health challenges. He prayed against anyone who was behind his travail.
“My friends deserted me.”
He also reflected on creating “musicomedy,” saying that it showed how his mind worked, before becoming overwhelmed by emotion.

What happens to the people around an entertainer when the person they knew — successful, active and financially capable — suddenly becomes vulnerable?
Julius wasn't just talking about losing health.
He was talking about losing access to people he thought were his people.
The hardest part of a career crisis isn't losing the career. It is discovering which relationships were attached to you — and which were attached to what you could provide.
When success changes, do the people around you change too — or does success simply reveal who was really there?
