She acknowledged that people may mock her, but said she wants others to learn from the mistakes she made. She also said her family has accepted her back and stressed that taking care of family when things are going well matters.
“I later came back to my mummy’s shop, later came back to Ijebu Ode. I am not saying you shouldn’t mock me, you are free to mock me. It is my fault but learn from my own mistake.”
The obvious story is “Mandy Kiss returns to her mother’s shop.”
But the more interesting story is what happens when the life you publicly built stops working.
Mandy went from presenting herself as a Lagos socialite and building a very provocative online persona to publicly acknowledging that she has returned home and is starting again.
Going back home isn't necessarily the end of the story. It is the place where someone gets to rebuild without having to maintain the image that brought them there in the first place.
Mandy's own message is unusually direct:
“It is your life… Don’t live on other people’s opinion.”
When the life you built no longer works, is going back home a failure — or a chance to start again?
