Nigerian businessman Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, announced that he had more than 30 cars to give away as part of his birthday celebrations. He said the beneficiaries would include his staff, friends and family, describing the gifts as a way of rewarding people who had contributed to his growth and success.
The giveaway included SUVs, Toyota models and Hilux trucks. Among the publicly reported recipients was Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki), who received a 2024/2025 SUV.
The celebrations took place around February 18, 2026, E-Money's 45th birthday. He began teasing the giveaway on Instagram on February 17, and the car presentations followed during the birthday celebrations.
Recipients publicly reported include:
Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) — SUV
Carter Efe — 2025 Toyota Corolla
Staff and domestic workers
Friends, associates and family members
This is also not a one-off gesture. E-Money has made birthday car-giving a recurring tradition. In 2025, for example, his housekeeper, cleaner, chef, barber, security personnel and photographer were among those reported to have received cars.
For him, the car isn’t just transportation. It becomes a gesture of appreciation, loyalty and celebration.
When someone has the means to give at this level, what does a gift like a car really communicate — generosity, gratitude, status, or all three?
If someone gifted you a brand-new car, who would you think of first — family, a friend, or someone who has worked with you?
