“Blame my Igbo mother, she never gave me the soft life” – BBNaija Uriel Oputa shares her childhood struggle as she responds to fan’s compliment

Big Brother Naija former housemate Uriel Oputa is blaming her Igbo mother following a compliment from a fan. A fan had slid into her DM, gushing over how good-looking she is. The fan questions how she can be this beautiful and still be a good cook. “How you come take fine as this comes still sabi cook”. Responding to the compliment, Uriel told the fan to blame it on her Igbo mother, who didn’t give her a soft life. She revealed that she started cooking at the age of 9. “Bae my Igbo mother. She never gave me the soft life. I started cooking at the age of 9″. A year ago, the reality star revealed that caring for her ailing mother taught her to forgive. She disclosed that she had to forgive her mother for not taking her high blood pressure medication on time, which would have prevented her stroke and, eventually, her vascular dementia.

Uriel added that over the years, she realised that she was carrying a lot of anger, and finally had to let it go. In another post, Uriel shared her experience taking care of her mother, who has dementia. She revealed that caring for someone with dementia, especially when the person is her mother, is the most challenging, heartbreaking, and rewarding experience. She said that each day brings new hurdles and deep emotions, yet they face it with love. In the end, love becomes both her strength and solace. In 2022, Uriel shed tears of joy as she reunited with her mother in London. Uriel’s mother broke down in tears at the joy of seeing her daughter.

Sharing the touching video, Uriel called her mother her best friend. Back in June 2022, the reality star and chef was left in shock when she watched her mom take her first step after doctors said she would never walk again. Uriel said doctors confirmed to her that her mother would never walk again, but to the amazement of everyone, her mother walked from her chair to her bed. With a heart of gratitude to God, Uriel encouraged her followers to trust God, do their part, and allow Him to handle the rest.
