The Urbanworld Film Festival, where the movie's 1999 premiere took place, saw the release of the teaser trailer for The Best Man: The Final Chapters.
The first eight episodes of the limited series The Peacock will air on December 22.

The series will catch up with Harper, Robyn, Jordan, Lance, Quentin, Shelby, Candace, and Murch as relationships change and old grudges resurface in the unpredictable stages of midlife crisis meets midlife renaissance. It is based on the eponymous Universal film franchise written and directed by Malcolm D. Lee.


Morris Chestnut, Melissa De Sousa, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, and Harold Perrineau are among the cast members of The Best Man: The Final Chapters. The Dominican Republic, New Jersey, and cities like New York City were used as filming sites for the Peacock original.
The Best Man franchise was created by Malcom D. Lee of Blackmaled Productions. He co-developed, scripted, acted as EP, directed, and served as co-showrunner for the series.
Dayna Lynne North, also of Loud Sis Productions, contributed to the co-development, writing, EP, and co-showrunning.


Sean Daniel of Hivemind and Dominique Telson of Blackmaled Productions are the executive producers.
Producing is done by Universal Television, a branch of the Universal Studio Group.
Malcom D. Lee directed four episodes of the show, along with Charles Stone III, Robert Townsend, and Stacey Muhammad.
