Tina Turner's star power has not lessened in the least, as she has demonstrated that she is still incredibly marketable.
According to reports, Mattel Creations, the toy company behind the ever-popular Barbie doll, sold out of Tina Turner dolls just one day after they were released last week.
Mattel had stated that in honor of the 40th anniversary of the singer's popular song "What's Love Got To Do With It," they would release a Barbie doll in her likeness as part of their Barbie Signature Music Series.
Turner appears in the doll wearing her distinctive spiky hairstyle from the 1984 music video, as well as a black little dress combined with a denim jacket and accessorized with a set of white earrings and a silver necklace.

According to Newsweek, the release was immensely popular with Mattel's customers, with many unable to obtain the $55 doll because it had sold out quickly after its introduction.
Fans have subsequently flocked to Twitter to express their irritation at not being able to find a retailer that still sells the doll after being unable to order it from Target and many online stores.
