The Murtala Mohammed International Airport Cargo Command of the Nigeria Customs Services (NCS), Lagos, has seized about 7,000 pieces of male donkey genitalia being smuggled to Hong Kong, China.
Approximately 16 bags of the donkey genitalia were on exhibit yesterday, and Sambo Dangaladima, the Customs' Area Controller, reported that the consignment's duty-paid value was N216,212,813.
According to Dangaladima, the strong aroma coming from the bags caught the attention of the customs officers.
“The importers falsely declared the items as cow genitals. After due examination, my export officers discovered they were donkey genitals. It is the first time we are seizing this type of item. We will not allow such illegal wildlife trade thrive under our watch,” he said.
