Chancellor Lee Adams Is Graduating High School (Video)

Chancellor Lee Adams is will be graduating from a Charlotte high school on June 5.

Chancellor Lee, now 21, is the son of former Carolina Panther Rae Carruth and the late Cherica Adams.

He has permanent brain damage and cerebral palsy as a result of his traumatic birth in 1999, when his mother was shot 4 times by a hitman Carruth hired.

Cherica died that night, but Chancellor, under the loving care of his grandmother, Saundra Adams, continues to defy the odds and live his best life.

Rae Carruth, was released from prison in October 2018 after serving nearly 19 years behind bars for his role in Cherica’s murder. 

Since his release, he’s sent Chancellor Lee several thousand dollars of the millions in damages he owes the Adams family. 

But, he still has made no attempt to see or talk to his son. 

Saundra has forgiven Rae and is still optimistic about him connecting with his son.

I’m hoping that someone will tell him about this great milestone that Chancellor is reaching. And as always, I’m still open — maybe we can have some communication.

The couple welcomed their child — a baby boy on May 6th.

While sharing photos of their son who has been named — Ethan Jidenna Okoye Ify recounted saying even though a lot of people are getting pregnant in 2020, it’s definitely not for her.

Nigerian robotics engineer, Dr. Olusola Ayoola, has invented a carbon emission tracker drone that is capable of detecting hideouts of terrorists and kidnappers.

The innovative capability of the drone surveillance is capable of discovering caves and forest areas inhabited by criminals, the engineer and founder of Robotic and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria revealed in an interview with TechDigest.

“We discovered the Carbon Emission Detection Based Aerial Surveillance which allows for a drone to sniff out hideouts through the carbon their activities emit. As long as human life exists in a forested location, there must be carbon emission, be it under a cave, under a canopy or inside a bunker.

EFCC nabs Yahoo Boy who tried to buy N44m SUV with bitcoin

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Lagos Zonal Office has arrested suspected eight internet fraudsters.

Tobiloba Aramide Ogundiyan is accused by the EFCC’s Advance Fee Fraud Section of committing online fraud and converting his loot to the cryptocurrency.

An EFCC source said Ogundiyan “acquired his ill-gotten wealth from internet fraud, layered it into a Bitcoin account and finally integrated it by approaching a car shop owner in Lekki to purchase a Range Rover Vela P380 2018 model worth N44,000,000 ($97,626 USD in Bitcoin) sometime in March 2021”.

Ogundiyan and seven others were arrested by the commission’s Lagos operatives on May 18, 2021 at River View Estate, Lekki, Lagos for alleged computer-related fraud.

The other suspects are Samson Alabi Afolabi; Adebayo Dolapo Olumide; Daniel Boluwatife Akinwunmi; Moses Segun; Kelechi Thankgod Felix; Adeleke Godwin Tofunmi and Adewale Dapo Victor.

Gridlock as tanker catches fire at Otedola Bridge

A fuel-laden tanker caught fire on Friday at the Otedola Bridge around the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

It was gathered that first responders have arrived at the scene and have curtailed the fire.

No casualty was recorded as of the time of filing this report.

Road users are advised to avoid the corridor as the incident has caused gridlock with motorists stranded around the axis.

World Bank approves $700m loan for Nigeria

The World Bank has approved a $700 million loan for the Nigeria Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Programme (SURWASH).

In a statement released yesterday, the bank said the credit will provide six million people with basic drinking water services and 1.4 million people access to improved sanitation services.

Ladipo auto spare parts market risks closure over environmental issues

There are indications that the Lagos State Government may be constrained to close the multi-billion naira Ladipo International Spare Parts Market in Mushin over alleged environmental infractions.

The market, a major contributor to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), has been shut in the recent past for various environmental reasons.

Some of the reasons included hooliganism, lack of toilet facilities, degradation of the environment with diesel and fuel products, and illegal structures.

However, such actions often lead to a public outcry because of their impact on the citizenry who depend directly or indirectly on the market for their daily needs.

Experts put the loss of the closure at about N100 million a day.

But, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, said the state might take the unpopular path if the market leaders failed to do the needful.

Neymar ‘tried to force Nike employee to perform oral s.e.x on him in NYC hotel’

PSG star Neymar allegedly tried to force a female Nike employee to perform an oral s.e.x act on him in a hotel room before being dropped by the sportswear brand.

The alleged incident reportedly occurred in 2016 when the Brazilian forward, 29, was in New York City for a marketing event with Nike.

It’s reported that the employee was trying to arrange events for the sportsman and his staff, according to the Wall Street Journal who claim to have spoken to people familiar with the matter.

The female reportedly filed a complaint in 2018 and Nike hired an independent legal firm to investigate the allegation.

Neymar denies the allegation. His spokeswoman told the Journal: “Neymar Jr. will vigorously defend himself against these baseless attacks in case any claim is presented, which did not happen so far.”

The sportswear company said the investigation was “inconclusive” but parted company with Neymar last year after 15 years of working together.

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has seized jewellery worth N14 billion from former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison-Madueke.

EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, made this known at the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the assessment and status of recovered loot on Friday in Abuja

He also said the Houses seized from the former Minister is also valued at 80million dollars.

The anti-graft chairman said that Diezani’s jewellery are still in the custody of the agency, adding it had not been auction but had been finally forfeited to the Federal Government.

He said that court processes, procedures and administrative exigencies had stalled some of the seized assets to be auctioned by the anti -graft agency.

Thierry Henry has rejoined Roberto Martinez’s Belgium coaching staff ahead of the European Championship in June.

According to the former Arsenal and Barcelona striker, he and the national team had “unfinished business.”

Henry was an assistant coach for Belgium from 2016 to 2018 and he was with the squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, when the Red Devils reached the semi-finals.

He then took the coaching job at Monaco, before moving to Major League Soccer team, CF Montreal, where he stepped down in February for personal reasons.

Tennis star, Naomi Osaka fired back Sunday after she was fined $15,000 for skipping a mandatory press conference following her first-round victory at the French Open.

Tournament organizers said Osaka was fined for failing to “honor her contractual media obligations.”

Osaka announced that she would not participate in any media events in a post last week. The 23-year-old cited mental health concerns as the reason for her decision.

Osaka acknowledged the likelihood of a fine in her initial post, expressing hope that “the considerable amount that I get fined for this will go towards a mental health charity.”

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has issued a strong warning to some of her fans hurling insults at her colleague, Lizzy Anjorin.

Recall that Toyin Abraham, some weeks ago lamented on how her husband and son was dragged into her dramatic scenes with Lizzy Anjorin.

Some fans and lovers of the actress took it upon themselves to defend her by insulting Lizzy Anjorin, a move she’s not pleased with.

In a statement issued on her Instagram page, the actress disclosed that she cannot and will not be held responsible for anyone claiming to be fighting for her while abusing, cursing or calling out’ perceived enemies or colleagues

She wrote:

It is important I say this at this point though I have said it before and hopefully, this is the last time I want to say this.

I cannot and will not be held responsible for anyone claiming to be fighting for me while ‘abusing, cursing or calling out’ perceived enemies or colleagues.

I saw certain videos on social media of people who purportedly are fighting for me and cursing others and dragging innocent kids into needless drama. Please I am not in any way in support of this. Not once have I ever sent anyone on this type of errands.

Please keep kids out of the drama. These kids will grow up and as they say, the internet never forgets.

I appreciate the love and passion towards me but that is no justification to maim other brands.

Farouk Yahaya takes over at Army HQ as 22nd COAS [Photos]

Major General Farouk Yahaya, the new chief of staff of the Nigerian Army reported for duty today, as the 22nd holder of the post.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, approved Yahaya’s appointment, following the death of Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru in a place crash on May 21 in Kaduna.

The new COAS was until his appointment, the Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, the military counter-insurgency operation in the North East.

Yahaya first visited the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor before coming to Army Headquarters for the taking over ceremony.

He was received at AHQ by the Chief of Policy and Plan, Maj.-Gen. Ben Ahanotu, who also briefed him before proceeding to assume office.

The COAS however asked for a minute silence in honour of the late Attabiru and other officers who died with him.

Thereafter, he asked journalists to leave the hall for closed door mee

NIS boss orders Passport Offices open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m to clear backlog

Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr Muhammad Babandede, said passport issuing offices all over the country will stay open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily to clear the backlog of applications.

Babandede also announced an increase in its production capacity of the passport booklets to beat the May 31 deadline set to clear backlog of passport applications.

He announced this while briefing newsmen on the NIS passport reforms and recruitment exercise on Thursday in Abuja.

He said that the passport production centres across the country were working round the clock to clear the backlogs before the commencement of the new passport regime on June 1.

NIS boss also gave assurance that the service had enough booklet, adding that a total of 23,903 passports were currently awaiting collection by the applicants.

According to him, more than 35,000 passports had been produced in the last few days, with about 22,840 collected, 23,903 not collected and 28 damaged.

He urged all applicants to be on alert as text messages were being sent to their registered phone numbers, adding that those that had turned off their Do not Disturb button on their phones to reactivate.

Babandede assured applicants that the more than 100,000 pending applications would be dealt with before the deadline of May 31.

“The major challenge we have now is not booklet but production capacity and we have added two production lines to Ikoyi and Ibadan centres,” he said.

He warned that the any officer involved in passports racketeering would be dealt with going forward, adding that the erring officers were partly responsible for the uncollected passports.

The 40th birthday getaway, which the KKW Beauty mogul faced backlash for in October after posting about it on social media in the middle of the pandemic, was featured on Thursday’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as was Kim’s family’s subsequent bout with COVID — though she said the two occurrences were not connected.

On Twitter, Kim responded to a BuzzFeed News article that pieced together a timeline of the star’s life events last fall and suggested she may have caught COVID from the vacation.

“False. Nobody caught Covid from the trip,” she fired back. “Saint was the first to have it in our family and he caught it from school from another student who tested positive first. I then developed symptoms and got it a few days after he coughed on me while caring for him.”

In the KUWTK episode, filmed in November, Kim revealed that her son, Saint, 5, had contracted COVID and it later spread to her and her other kids, daughters North, 7½, and Chicago, 3, and son Psalm, 2. (Their dad, Kim’s ex Kanye West, had contracted COVID himself earlier in 2020.)

Kim tweeted on Thursday, “All 4 of my babies and I had Covid!!! At least we all had it together and everyone is ok!”

G Herbo & Taina Williams Welcome Their 1st Child Together

 G Herbo and Taina Williams have welcomed their first child together.

Herbo took to Instagram early Thursday morning (May 27) and shared a heavily cropped photo of himself holding his newborn baby.

Fans learned the couple was engaged and expecting last December when G Herbo, who is cased up on some fraud tomfoolery, asked a judge to allow him to travel to see his pregnant fiancé.

They officially announced their pregnancy a month later.

Baby Wright is the second son for the rapper and the first child for Taina.

The multi media personality had taken to her handle to write on the entitlement attitude some people have these days. 

Taking her journey as a case study, Toke wrote

''Someday we will have a conversation about young people starting out and this entitlement issue, it breaks my heart to see so many talented people miss it.

You cannot cut corners on the way to success, it doesn’t happen overnight. Don’t let this “wokeness” deceive you, the journey to the top is Ladened with a lot of sacrifice, you’ll need to do the work and stay under construction.

37 Abeokuta inmates gain admission into NOUN

The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) on Friday said 37 of its inmates were admitted and matriculated into the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of NCoS, Mr Francis Enobore on Friday in Abuja, said this was the second matriculation ceremony at the Custodial Centre, under the auspices of NOUN.

It stated that the inmates were admitted to study various courses as Business Administration, Political Science, Criminology and Security Studies, Journalism, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Accounting, Economics, Christian Religious Studies and Economics Education.

“The Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Olufemi Peters, represented by Dr Segun Adenuga, the Director of Ogun Study centre, took the enrollee through the orientation programme.

“The programme exposed their minds to what is expected of them as students of National Open University of Nigeria,” he said.

‘It’s hard walking on my own’ – Tiger Woods speaks on recovery

 Tiger Woods says “walking on my own” is his “number one goal” as he continues to recover from the multiple leg injuries he sustained in a car crash.

In his first interview since his single vehicle accident near Los Angeles, the American superstar told Golf Digest: “My physical therapy keeps me busy.

“I do my routines every day. I’m taking it one step at a time.”

Woods, a 15-time major winner, suffered comminuted open fractures to both his right tibia and fibula as well as multiple fractures in his right foot and ankle after the accident on 23 February.

In recent years the 45-year-old had undergone five back surgeries as well as multiple procedures on his left knee but Woods admitted that his current spell of rehabilitation is his most challenging yet.

SCANDAL: Pastor’s wife, female member fight dirty in Church

A viral video captures a pastor’s wife and her female church member fighting inside a Church in Umuahia, Abia State.

The video which was shared on Facebook by a certain Sunday Ogirima claimed that the woman wearing a blue dress was his pastor’s wife while the other lady was a Church member.

In the post, Ogirima referred to the women as ‘TST warriors’, perhaps they took the tag a bit too literally…

He wrote;

“SHAMELESS DANCE IN THE CHURCH

“The women fighting inside this Church are TST. The mummy on blue is Mrs Akaa wife of our Pastor in Umuahia District. The lady receiving the heat is the daughter of the Deaconess who is on top of the Pastor’s wife. They are our TST warriors fighting themselves inside the Church.

“My conscience will not be at rest if I see this and close my mouth when I know that if it is TAG that did it I will not spare them.

“We speak the truth even if it affects us.

“Some may not like me for doing this against TST Family but it doesn’t matter. I’m very sorry but I have to do this. I will still do the same thing again to show others that while we condemn TAG for being rebellious and rejecting peace and Reconciliation in AG Nigeria we don’t have immunity or license to act the same way and be free.”

The Nigerian movie industry has rapidly grown as its first horror movie ‘The Mystic River’ berths on the Netflix platform.A project is by Rogers Ofime, while Uxodinma Okpechi directed the six-part horror movie.

The ‘Mystic River’ which stars Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule, Lota Chukwu, Ben Toutou, Joke Muyiwa, Thelma Nwosu, Jeffery Musa David, premiered on Netflix on May 14, 2021.

The six-part horror series, tells the story of a young couple who relocated to a remote Nigerian Village following the woman’s deployment as a doctor in the village health centre.

They are oblivious of the deadly practice of sacrificing pregnant women to their gods to avert suffering and death.

The mystery surrounding the disappearing pregnant women is about to be unravelled by the young doctor who herself is pregnant, as she encounters the brutal suicide of Bisi who is marked for sacrifice, right before her.

D’banj has signed Feza, a female artist to his record label, DB records.

Koko master as D’banj calls himself uploaded a picture of the female signee on his verified Instagram page with a covered face, teasing his fans as he revealed he has a new signee onboard.

The new artist is a Tanzanian with full name as Feza Tadei Kessy.

Feza is a reality star. She was a housemate representing Tanzania in Big Brother Africa season 8 and spent 77 days as a housemate.

She finished eighth out of the 28 contestants.

She released a song, Bless Me, accompanied by an official video.

Feza released her first single, ‘Amani ya Moyo’, in 2013 and afterward ‘My Papa’, a hit that has confirmed she as an upcoming musician to watch in Tanzania.

In 2015 she signed to Panamusiq and was asked to feature on Zambian superstar Macky 2’s track ‘Living my Life.’
