Sanwo-Olu Boosts Teachers’ Morale, Presents Them with 13 Cars for Outstanding Performance

Sanwo Olu Teachers Merit Award--2

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has presented car gifts to 13 outstanding school teachers and administrators in public schools across the state.

The 13 teachers were honoured were among 23 semi-finalists selected from over 3,000 applications who applied for the State’s Merit Award selection process captured under the State’s Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, B.O.S Education Transformation Plan 2020.

The state Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo stated that the recipients have been selected from public Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools as well as Technical Colleges in the state.

Speaking about the presentation ceremony which took place yesterday Tuesday March 30th, Sanwo-Olu tweeted:

At the Year 2020 Teachers Merit Award today, I presented car gifts to 13 teachers as a mark of our determination to reinforce teaching as a noble profession. I celebrate our remarkable teachers who leave no stone unturned in moulding lives, building character and preparing our students for a productive future. We are cognizant of the essential role that teachers play in building a formidable society and we are committed to rewarding exceptional teachers regularly. We will continue to prioritise investment in education by improving the capacity, competence and welfare of our teachers, making the education sector more ICT-compliant, exposing our teachers to international best practices as well as ensuring that our schools are conducive for teaching and learning with quality and modern infrastructure.
