Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has presented car gifts to 13 outstanding school teachers and administrators in public schools across the state.
The 13 teachers were honoured were among 23 semi-finalists selected from over 3,000 applications who applied for the State’s Merit Award selection process captured under the State’s Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, B.O.S Education Transformation Plan 2020.
The state Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo stated that the recipients have been selected from public Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools as well as Technical Colleges in the state.
King Sunny Ade becomes MCSN president

The Board of the Musical Copyright Society Nigeria, MCSN has appointed Juju music maestro, Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye more popularly known as King Sunny Ade as the Honourary President of the Society, in recognition and appreciation of his leadership role in the society.
King Sunny Ade was the chairman of the Board of MCSN during the turbulent period when the Society was struggling to be licensed as a collecting society or Collective Management Organisation (CMO).
As chairman, he led several delegations of MCSN to meet with top government functionaries to press for the recognition of the organisation as a collecting society. He also led MCSN through series of legal battles for the respect and defense of the rights of musicians. With his new positions as honorary president of MCSN, King Sunny Ade is expected to act as the Ambassador Plenipotentiary, opening more doors of opportunities for the Society by leveraging on his wide experience and contacts around the world.
MCSN is also expected to leverage on the vast experience and network of King Sunny Ade in pushing the cause of the Society.

Ngozi Kachi Onyeluo, the CEO of Kachi Hair beauty and daughter of popular Nollywood actress, Ireti Doyle, decided to pay her debts to avoid further embarrassment.
She issued out 16 cheques last week totalling N12million to customers who had paid for hair and had waited for close to two years with no delivery made. The amounts refunded were each between the range of N77,000 and N6.5 million.

Danladi Umar, Chairman of Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has been caught on camera physically assaulting a security guard at Banex Plaza in Wuse, Abuja.
In the video, the CCT chairman launched a barrage of attacks on the young man and violently kicked him before he was restrained by the crowd, including police officers attached to him. He was then forced into his vehicle by the police officers.
Eyewitnesses say the guard had reached out to Umar to park his car properly at the plaza before the assault.

Patience said she was told she couldn’t wait for the love of her life so she had to be married off at the young age by her parents. Sharing her experience in her marriage, she said it was very awful but had to endure in order not to disappoint her father because she loved him so much.
According to her, divorce wasn’t an option for her, coming from a polygamous family and having a Christian background. She added that her husband was battling with a terminal disease so she had to find ways to take care of her children.
The actress revealed that on one occasion, her husband who woke from coma felt surprised to see her around him regardless of what he was going through.

Don Jazzy also added that he had lived in the house for about one to two months before he shared the news. “It’s a thing of Joy. I like it, it’s beautiful. My parents are happy, they like it… It’s sort of like a family home,” he said.
He goes on to talk about stories surrounding his living in a rented house, housing as a business, his family, growing up and more.

Church Elder Sues Lizzo For $750K Over Alleged Sample Of His Performance At A Private Funeral In 2016 Song “Coconut Oil”

Lizzo is now being sued by Detroit resident Orlandus Dunning for allegedly recording his performance during a private funeral and using the audio without his permission in her 2016 song “Coconut Oil.” Recently reported by The Detroit News, Dunning, “an elder in the Church of God In Christ” is suing the chart-topping musician for $750,000 in compensation to cover the “suffered anguish, embarrassment and outrage” he claims to have undergone following the song’s release via Atlantic Records, their subsidiary Nice Life Recording Co., and their owners Warner Music Group — all of which were lumped alongside Lizzo as the defendants in the suit according to the outlet. Concerning the details of what exactly Dunning’s claims against Lizzo are, the lawsuit says the Grammy winner allegedly used audio pieces of a gospel hymn he sang during a mutually attended funeral of a relative and that Lizzo “recorded this audio without either (Dunning’s) knowledge or consent” before then using it as a sample in the intro and outro of “Coconut Oil” without asking his permission before doing that either. Pieces of the audio can be heard in the clip below: According to the suit, even if Lizzo would have asked Dunning for his permission to record the audio beforehand, he wouldn’t have been receptive to the request. As the court document stated, Dunning, “did not and would not have consented to the use of his voice this way because the message in the song is contradictory to his own brand and beliefs as an ordained elder in the Church of God In Christ … organization.” “When Plaintiff sang the devotional,” the lawsuit noted, “it was at a private funeral and done for the specific purpose of uplifting his family and friends during their time of bereavement.” Additionally, it detailed his point of view further by saying,”(Dunning) had a reasonable expectation of privacy and that his voice would not be heard publicly, as the funeral where he sang was held privately and open only to family and close friends.”
The suit specified that Lizzo “knew or should have known that portraying (Dunning) in such a light would cause him distress based on his position as an Elder in the church.” As of now, while it is unclear how exactly the meaning of the song was personally offensive to Dunning, we do know that when Lizzo talked about “Coconut Oil” — the title track of her 2016 EP — she mentioned during an interview with Rolling Stone that the song was an “ultimate ode to self-care.” For the record, this isn’t the first time Lizzo has been sued since she been in the limelight. In November of 2019, she was sued by a Postmates driver for defamation and distress after she’d put the driver on blast via Twitter for not completing her food delivery — despite the driver’s claim that she’d tried to complete the order for over 10 minutes but could get a hold of the singer. More infamously in a very public battle, the singer also went back and forth with two brothers who she sued and then was countersued by for the opening lyrics “I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that bitch” of her popular song “Truth Hurts.” Originally, that whole lawsuit battle began when the brother claimed that Lizzo had plagiarized them and taken inspiration from their song “Healthy.” In the end, the case was dismissed last year in August. While Lizzo hasn’t responded to the latest lawsuit being thrown her way, The Detroit News did mention that her lawyer hadn’t gotten back to them to provide a comment on Dunning’s claims.

Jessica Simpson revealed that she had the virus while sharing details of her new essay on “self-acceptance, parenthood and overcoming fear.”
“We have all been handed challenges and fears in our lives that, at times, felt like too much to overcome. This past year has been especially intense for me and so many of you,” Simpson wrote on Instagram. “I started writing this essay on the same day I received a positive test result for COVID-19.”
Instead of letting fear be her guiding force, she chose to be hopeful and write a piece that expressed the feeling.
“I felt strong, resilient, and God-inspired through my pen teaching me as I was sharing with you ways to get to the other side of fear,” she wrote.

Britney Spears (or whoever is running her Instagram account) broke her silence Tuesday about controversial documentary exploring her life — saying she was left “embarrassed” and by the way she was portrayed.
The FX/New York Times doc, “Framing Britney Spears,” covered the pop superstar’s rise to fame, as well as the conservatorship battle over her estate and the #FreeBritney movement propelled by her fans.
“I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in,” the 39-year-old singer wrote on InstagramTuesday.
“I cried for two weeks and well …. I still cry sometimes !!!!”
The mom of two posted a video of herself dancing to Aerosmith’s “Crazy,” writing that it was her way of being able to feel “wild and human and alive.”
She also addressed the media and public scrutiny she has faced throughout her career, which was chronicled in the documentary that was released on Hulu last month.
“My life has always been very speculated …,” Spears wrote in the Instagram post. “Watched … and judged really my whole life !!!”
“I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people,” she posted.
“It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I’ve always been so judged… insulted… and embarrassed by the media… and I still am till this day.”
She added: “Every day dancing brings me joy !!! I’m not here to be perfect … perfect is boring … I’m here to pass on kindness.”
Sources previously told Page Six that Spears was left “emotional” after seeing parts of doc — but also “hopeful she will finally be freed from the vice-like grip of her father,” who she wants removed as conservator.
“There are parts of the film that were too hard and emotional for her to watch — the scenes that describe the most difficult times of her life, the relentless media circus and the harsh focus on her as a young mother,” a source close to the star said at the time.
“But, she feels, for the first time in many years, that people are on her side and things will get better for her.”

to banks limiting the withdrawal amount at their ATMs to N10, 000.
ATMs can do as much as N20, 000 in a single withdrawal but some banks have decided to limit theirs to N10, 000 per withdrawal which in turn generates extra charges from customers who make use of their machines.
In a tweet posted on her handle, Ms. Osiberu is asking why the apex bank is allowing such. Her tweet reads;
''Nigerian Banks and their fraudulent behavior. ATMs have a capacity of N20k per withdrawal but you limit to N10k so you can charge N35 per withdrawal, on a platform that's suppose to be a low cost option for servicing your customers. Why is @cenbank allowing this?''

An antifeminist has taken to his Twitter account to give his vivid reasons why 30 years plus women aren’t a good fit for men to get married to.
According to the Twitter user, @Shadaya, he tweeted on his page that 30 years old women must have had 12 years of sexual experience if they started having sex from the legal age.
He took his time to calculate the number of men she must have been with and as well the number of sex she must have engaged in.
This however makes her a misfit for a young man but only good for men above the age of 40 years old who are divorced, widowed or seeking second wives.
Shadaya further summarized his long speech by categorically stating that men who disagree with his opinion and do contrary to what he had tweeted are likened to one who buys a public bus and tries privatizing it.

Landlord who gave his tenant a quit notice, drags her; says she snatched another woman’s boyfriend

A lady identified as Toju Agbajoh took to her Twitter page to narrate that her landlord is set to evict her from the house today.
She portrayed the scenario as an act of gender inequalities and prejudices against women.
However, the Landlord, who’s identified as Oladipo Xeview Awesu claims that Toju is an indecent lady who’s untrained. As she was always seen parading herself in the estate almost naked.
He further disclosed that the young lady was almost caught in a mess when a gang of ladies came to beat her up for snatching their man.
