Dr. Dayo Olukoshi heads Brampton Manor Academy, a state school located in East London, United Kingdom, that produced the best A’level results.
Over 100 of the sixth form students obtained straight A* to A and gained admissions to Top Rusell Group Universities including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Imperial College,UCL, Kings College, St Andrews, Warwick, and Bristol Universities.
The school took to Twitter to announce the “record-breaking” achievement. The most amazing part of this news is that Brampton Manor Academy is a State School, not a school where fees are usually paid.
The tweet read: “Our 2018 students have worked extremely hard and achieved the school’s best ever A-level results. Well done to our amazing students!”
Among those who bagged the awesome result of the top grades was Ali Anis, who will celebrate his 18th birthday next week. He bagged three A*s in biology, chemistry, and maths. Alis Anis will thus be off to Oxford to study medicine.
“I was shocked,” he said. “I told my parents and they didn’t believe me at first. A lot of hard work paid off.”
Natanim Fedaku, secured a place at Cambridge to study history and politics after achieving A*A*A in English, religious studies and history.
“It’s not even real,” she said. “I can’t believe it, I didn’t think I’d be able to do this. My parents are on holiday in Ethiopia, so I can’t even tell them yet.”
As for Fahim Ahmed, 18, three A*s weren’t enough so he went a step further to achieve four.
The teenager will now be heading to Cambridge to study chemical engineering.
Amongst these distinguished students are also Kevin Jaku and Ziggy Zubkus, both 18, achiving three A*s in maths, further maths, and economics. They will be studying maths at Imperial College London and Durham respectively.
“It’s great – we both went to the same secondary school, both got the same grades at AS-level, and now we’ve got the same A-levels,” said Ziggy.
Brampton Manor was distinguished as an outstanding school on every category in the years 2012, 2015 and 2018. The determined leadership of the principal, the dedication of the staff and the relatiojship between the students and the teachers were recognized and acknowledged as top-notch.
Their Nigerian Principal, Dr. Olukoshi was awarded an OBE in 2015 to honour his services to education. He said, “We’re delighted to receive this recognition for the second time for the hardwork and high standards achieved by our staff and students.”... spill TEA ☕ Easy on Shade #jaiyeorie
