Senator representing Ogun East Senate District, Buruji Kasham, told the Abuji Federal High Court to abolish the disciplinary decisions made by his party, the Democratic People's Party, against him. He said that all disciplinary steps, including inquiries from 7 September 2017 and his referral to the disciplinary commission of the party, violated the ruling of the Federal Court in Lagos, FHC / L / CS / 605/2016, and also the order of justice of Babatunde Quadri of the Abuja Division of the Court in FHC / ABJ / CS / 732/2017 on 5 September 2017. He said PDP as a party in "serial disobedience to court orders ... in managing southwest jobs and despising the rule of law," unless the court intervenes, a party would unlawfully expel it or block it from seeking a candidacy for future elections on its platform (PDP). He also stated in his fresh suit labeled FHC / ABJ / CS / 866/2017 that some national DPP leaders were on the move only because he insisted on respecting the internal democracy in managing the affairs of the party, particularly in the Southwestern area. The Independent National Electoral Commission, the Democratic People's Party and Ahmed Makarfi, the National Guard Board were the first respondents to the lawsuit. Fourth to sixth respondents are DSP Chairman of the Disciplinary Board, Mayor Tom Ikimi; Makarfi; and another member of the board of directors of Makarfi, Ben Obi. Kashamu filed a lawsuit following a September 7 inquiry issued for his activities in the Southwest Party Zone. In the statement, he filed a lawsuit filed by PDP with other prominent party leaders in the Southwestern area to encourage "the party's injured parties to approach the court in order to enforce their rights.
