The Lagos State Police Command, through Rapid Response Squadron agents, has arrested 10 robber suspects who have been terrorizing the residents of Ayobo-Ipaja, Lagos, just as they recovered six vehicles stolen by thieves in Onitsha, Anambra state. Highlighting the suspects along with others, the state police commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, revealed that the suspects burst into the homes of their victims at night, filled up the objects found in the cars and threw them early in the morning. The suspects are Abomi James (34), Omokaro Efe (48), Joseph Uzuazomaro (31), Chukwudi Onyemara (27), Melvin Umeh (33), Nisma Uttah (33), Samuel Shokunbi (34), Ahmed Waheed ), AgustΓ­n Uchenna (47) and Udoh Benedicto (39). Edgal, reiterating his preparedness orders to fight crime in the state of Lagos, warned the thieves who were picking up the cars at gunpoint and stealing them from where they were parked, that the police were ready to locate them and return them to their owners. The recovered vehicles include the registration numbers: Totoya Camry (FKJ 715 ES), Toyota Camry (FGG 636 MC), Toyota Matrix (EPE 429 DJ), Mercedes Benz 4matic (KRD 68 ES), Acura MDX (EKY 534 BS) and Toyota Camry (LSR 742 EW). The suspects, he said, will be charged in court as soon as investigations are completed. Speaking to reporters, gang leader Nisma Uttah stated that the band meets and resides in Ajegunle but operates in Ayobo and Ipaja. He added that for each operation, he would inspect the area and note the buildings pointed out before visiting the residents at night. He noted that the gang entered the buildings by climbing the fence or breaking part of the wall. He added that after the operation, the gang was driving very early in the morning when people were on their way to work. He said they sell the cars to a buyer who took him to Onitsha the next day after re-registering the vehicle. Also recovered from the gang were a locally made pistol, four cartridges, five LG flat screen TV, six wrist watches, cover woofer, three pairs of shoes, a black suit, etc.
