Inter Milan's new coach Yann Karamoh said he rejected the big interest on the day of the transfer to join what he classifies as one of the "leading teams" in Europe.
The Premier League teams Newcastle, Southampton and Tottenham were all united with the 19-year-end before he agreed to join the French team's Nerazzurri Caen.
The agreement is an initial loan of two years, with Inter necessary for the movement to be permanent for a charge of 6 million euros.
Karamoh, who scored five goals in 35 Ligue 1 games last term, revealed he jumped at the chance to join Luciano Spalletti's side.
“I had a lot of options and I was trying to figure out what they were, but when I heard about Inter I blocked everything else right away,” Karamoh told Inter Channel.
“Inter was my dream. I did not hesitate.
“I would say this is one of the leading teams in Europe. All of those titles [18] definitely impressed me and it is something which commands respect.”
Inter have enjoyed a perfect start to the Serie A season under new boss Spalletti, winning each of their opening two matches.
Karamoh confirmed the Italian’s presence as influencing his decision to join the club.
“I followed Spalletti during his time at Roma and he is obviously an exceptional coach who loves to win,” the France U21 international said.
“I am hopeful that my characteristics will allow me to secure a spot in the side. I feel ready.”
Karamoh could make his Inter bow at home to promoted SPAL on Sunday.
The 19-year-old forward joined the Nerazzurri on transfer deadline day, and after his Q&A with fans earlier today, he spoke to Premium Sport about his arrival in Serie A.
“It’s a new football, I hope I can improve a lot,” Karamoh said.
“I’ve come to a new team and for me it’s important that they’re betting on me. PSG were waiting to make a move for me, and Arsenal contacted my agents.
“There was also interest from Monaco and Lyon, but I decided to come here.
“Italian football is new for me, there’s much more quality here than in France, you could see that last year in Monaco-Juventus.
“It’s tough here, I was used to training this way in France but I hope I can improve a lot.
“My inspirations? There are so many. I’m inspired by Neymar, [Ricardo] Quaresma and also [Paulo] Dybala who is someone I admire a lot.”
