"Living in Bondage: Breaking Free," Ramsey Nouah's debut film as a director, was well received and garnered several accolades.
He is now working on Play Network Studios' biography of crime boss Shina Rambo from the 1990s.
In the 1990s, people in the SouthWest of Nigeria, in locations like Benin Republic and the surrounding area, were terrified by the narrative of Shina Rambo, an Ogun state native who was a former bandit and armed robbery lord.
He was changed by an evangelist, and after serving time for his misdeeds, he became a preacher.
Ramsey Nouah posted the first-look teaser on his official Instagram page with the caption, “Nobody can tell our stories better than we do. Shina Rambo in the making.” In the video, the famed Shina Rambo talked about making a deal with the devil and one of his robberies on the third mainland bridge.
The biopic was first announced by Charles Okpaleke, the CEO and co-founder of Play Network, in 2021.
He stated the corporation had obtained the intellectual property rights in an Instagram post that he made after having a lengthy talk with the former bandit.
The creator posted a picture of writings with the caption:
I’m in this industry to tell our Nigerian stories (and we have a lot of them). I’m not perfect but I strive to be, and as a new film maker don’t expect instant perfection. But expect one thing “I’m here to stay” and I’ll get better at it. This is just the beginning guys! We are fearless! We move!! @playnetworkstudios
