Despite the fact that it is the most common blood illness, it is still a low priority for many health ministries.
Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is prevalent over much of Sub-Saharan Africa, accounting for up to 3% of all births in some areas.
This episode aims to raise awareness of the disease as we approach World Sickle Cell Day on June 19th.
