In an interview with Emma Chamberlain, Vogue's red carpet host and correspondent for the evening, the actor and singer discussed the interesting anecdotes that helped her and her crew bring the look to life.
Erivo also claimed that her headgear was influenced by Louisianian women in the 1800s who wore a headpiece known as 'Tino.'
