The movie is directed by Yaseen Auwal, ‘Mati A Zazzau’ and is a sequel of ‘Mati Da Lado,’ a 2014 Kannywood hit comedy film, which chronicled the story of Sadiq and Lado, two brothers who paraded themselves as Islamic clerics to swindle unsuspecting village members. The movie is set to hit the cinema as from February 7, 2020.
The movie is produced by Rahama Sadau and Saddiq Sani Sadiq and featured several characters including Adam Zango, Rika Dawa, Umar Gombe, Alhassan Kwalle, Zahradeen Sani, Garba Mohammad Bado, Hamza Talle and Rahama.
Di’ja’s new desire to explore the film industry proceeds a protracted hiatus from the music scene. She seems to have been interested in acting for awhile now, because some of her posts on her social media page reveals that she desires being featured in a movie.
The ‘Rock Steady’ crooner had described herself as the “happiest woman alive” after she welcomed her second baby in the year 2018.
“Practicing my lines … toh di’ja tana Cikin #matiazazzau. Your girl is in a movie!” she wrote in one of the posts.
The singer had joined Don Jazzy-led Mavin Records in February 2014, and has also established herself as a household name in the music industry.
She has also bagged several nominations and awards.
