Akon is in Nigeria for the Google For Nigeria event .He got into a debate with the deputy governor of Lagos, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
The debate was about who has the best Jollof rice in Africa.
Akon defended his country of origin, saying: "Senegal Invented Jollof Rice."
But Dr Obafemi Hamzat replied: "I’m not talking about who actually Invented, I am saying Nigeria Jollof Is the Best."
