The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar declared Monday May 6th, the beginning of the holy fasting in Nigeria. The Sultan said this following the sighting of the crescent moon that dictates the beginning of the Ramadan.
Muslim will observe the 29 or 30 days fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan.
Simwal, a member of the moon sighting committee of Nigeria, in a tweet, quoted the sultan as saying
