Former Miss France Sonia Rolland has been named as the newest face for the Guerlain makeup and fragrance brand.

The 38-year-old documentary filmmaker and model took to her Instagram to share the good news which translates to:
“I am very happy to announce that I am joining Maison Guerlain as a makeup & perfume ambassador. Thanks, to @laurentboillot and the entire Guerlain team, as well as the group @lvmh for their trust!

Sonia Rolland has been at the head of an association called Maïsha Africa that helps children orphans of Rwanda since 2001.

Her status as an activist also motivated Guerlain to choose her as their muse. Laurent Boillot, CEO of Guerlain in his commitment statement said:
“Because beauty is our guide, because the world is its origin, because the planet needs to be protected and valued, and because championing this cause is our responsibility, Guerlain’s focus is trained unswervingly on sustainable development. In the name of Beauty, Guerlain is committed to a more sustainable world.”
Sonia Rolland was the first African-born winner of the Miss France pageant. She was born in Kigali, Rwanda, to a Rwandan mother and a French father, but the family fled the country due to the Rwandan genocide considering her mother’s status as a Tutsi. In 1990, the family moved to neighbouring Burundi but would have to move again in 1994 due to growing unrest that eventually led to the Burundi Civil War. France will become home as 13-year-old Sonia settled with her family in a small town of Cluny, Burgundy.📎 🤔COMMENT BELOW... CRITIC ALSO 🖋️ 📜 🗺️ 😂 ... spill TEA ☕ Easy on Shade 💣 COMMENT BELOW...
