Monica Brown has filed for divorce from her ex-basketballer husband, Shannon Brown.
According to the media house, the singer filed for the paperwork last month in Atlanta. It was unclear as at press time why the couple decided to separate, plus they have always kept their private life from social media.
The pair share one daughter, Laiyah. And Monica has 2 sons from a previous relationship.
They had yet to speak publicly about this as at press time.
The R&B singer filed the petition earlier this month in Atlanta, Georgia, but the couple is believed to have been separated since October of 2018.
For some, this news comes as no surprise considering Monica has been moving and shaking in these streets on her strong black single mother flow for a minute.
Monica and Shannon tied the knot in 2010 .
In 2015, Shannon was in a near-fatal car accident. Then, in 2016, the couple was plagued with rumors of Shannon stepping outside of their marriage.
There was a rumor Shannon Brown had fathered a child outside of his marriage. We later learned the report was false and the alleged mistress was stalking the couple.
Monica has not publicly addressed her divorce filing, Shannon has been posting a lot of cryptic messages on social media.
